About me -My name is Eveline and I'm 26 year old girl from the Netherlands. Last year I moved to New Zealand and achieved to start soon as a PhD-student at the University of Otago in Christchurch. Which means that I will work full-time during the week. Next to working I like to be active and spend my time outside, for which New Zealand is the perfect place! However, living abroad most tenants don't allow animals in the house and I really miss some fur around me to cuddle and play with. When I skype with my parents I always ask to see their dog as well, because I miss her too. Therefore, I would like to spend some time with either cats or dogs. Experience -During my youth I was always surrounded by animals. Growing up we had a cat and multiple rodents at home. The cat and me basically grew up together, since we were the same age. I always thought I was a cat-person, because on the street cats always came to me to be pet and my friends noticed that. However, after the cat passed away the house felt really empty and my parents decided to get a beagle puppy. Taking care of the puppy and teaching it several tricks while growing up was lovely to be part of. Therefore, if friends ask me if I am a cat- or a dog-person it feels like I have to chose between my two favourite pets, which I off course can not do. Having grown up with both a cat and dog in my life gave me very close experience with both of them. The cat was difficult sometimes so I could see from far away if he liked something or not, I know the signs if a cat enjoys to be pet or rather wants to be left alone. For dogs I understand how to use my voice to let them know if they are doing something right or wrong. Being consistent and clear is very important for animals, since every animal has their own character and I have the patients to get to know them in their own way. What do I offer -I want to be your pets new best friend! During the week I can come to your home in the evenings and give food and/or have some play time if they are interested. If your house is close to the city center (where I work) I can stay overnight and take care of the cat/dog for multiple days. For dogs I like dog walking as well and to go outside and maybe explore Christchurch a little bit more, but with the company of a nice 4-legged friend or friends. I am quite flexible in the hours I make, because of my job, so don't hesitate to contact me and ask about the possibilities to help you and your furry friend(s) out!
