Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Piha home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Piha.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Piha home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I’m 23 years old and a passionate makeup artist and body piercer, with four years of study behind me and five years of experience in retail management. Over the last four years in retail, I was a top-performing salesperson, and I continue that same standard in my current role, consistently receiving 5-star reviews. I’m a really bubbly, welcoming person who loves social interaction and making people feel comfortable. I also worked at kiwis valley animal farm for a few years and have also helped my grandmother with her farm and dogs.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’m a proud cat mum to three cats: Artemis, my sleek black cat; Ozzie, my cheeky orange boy; and Freddie, my gentle grey cat. I grew up with dogs, and my whole family has dogs, so I’m very comfortable around them and absolutely love their company (dog cuddles are always a bonus!).
I’m doing this to build my skills, independence, and confidence, while also supporting pet owners when they need a helping hand. My goal is to provide the best possible service and care for both owners and their animals, treating every pet as if they were my own. I’m very flexible with my availability outside of work, and my prices are open to discussion to suit individual needs. Thank you so much, and I can’t wait to meet your fur babies! :)

I am a reliable and caring 19-year-old with a genuine love for animals and a strong sense of responsibility. I grew up on a farm, surrounded by animals, and understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they are away. I treat every animal as part of the family and prioritise their wellbeing at all times.

I have hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, ducks, sheep, and chickens. I was always the child bringing home a new furry friend and helping animals in need, including raising ducklings, chicks, and lambs from birth when they required extra care. My daily routines include feeding, cleaning, walking, playtime, and providing consistent companionship. I have experience in a range of different animals.

I am patient and adaptable with different personalities and needs, and I carefully supervise animals, follow routines, and provide regular updates so owners have complete peace of mind while they’re away. I ensure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved during my visits, and I adjust my care to meet their individual needs. Whether it’s a walk, feeding, playtime, or simply providing companionship, I treat each animal with the attention and care they deserve.

Hi I'm Hannah! I'm 21. I'm a third year psychology and english major at University of Auckland and work part time as a teacher aide.
I have two boxers, Bailey and Winston, three cats - socks, Mr pim, and Spidey. I've also had several rabbits and mice throughout my childhood. I absolutely love animals, their cuteness and awesome personalities.
We live in a lovely area with lots of space, parks, beach and more. Our favourite place to take our dogs is a dog beach in huia, but if we're not feeling like a drive, our neighbourhood has lots of short walks and open field parks for our furry friends to go wild!
I have experience for doing small jobs like looking after neighbours and friends pets, like cat sitting for family friends, feeding neighbourhood cats and dogs, however the most obvious being that I've been looking after my own pets for years! For example; training, feeding, walking, and grooming our big pups.
I have full availability as I'm on summer break!
I'm interested in doing jobs like taking your animals on walks, feeding and grooming them, and house sitting and looking after pets overnight if necessary. I'm happy with administering medication and any sort of particular care needed.

Hi! I’m Leah, a lifelong animal lover who has grown up surrounded by pets of all kinds, including playful dogs, cuddly cats, and smaller animals that taught me patience and responsibility. Being around animals has always brought me joy, and I genuinely enjoy creating a comforting, happy environment for every pet I care for. I’m reliable, gentle, and attentive, making sure each animal gets the perfect balance of fun, structure, and affection. Whether your pet needs energetic walks, relaxed company, or simply someone who understands their unique personality, I’m committed to giving them the same love and care I give my own. I offer house sitting, dog walking, and much more. If you’re looking for a caring, dependable sitter who truly connects with animals, I’d love to help look after your furry family member as well, always. Please feel free to message for further information.

Goldendoodle Von enjoys 3 or 4 park frisbee, bush & beach walks & swims a day & loves to share the fun with his dog mates of all sizes. His human BFF, Greg, has extensive experience training & looking after other’s dogs, including support dogs, & housesitting. Von’s too interested in life to waste it laying around sleeping, so our day starts at 7am with the dog socialisation meetup Greg started 4 years ago to ensure our community has only good doggie boys & girls. After brekky we have another morning walk/swim followed by one or two walks/swims in the afternoon. No two days are the same, as we're always rotating our dog friendly on & off leash walking destinations & seeking out new ones. And if you need us to stay over to keep you company while your BFFs are away, we can do that too. We're looking forward to you joining us for one or more of our daily adventures soon.

Hi, I'm Sheen. Mama to a 8yr old teacup bichon who is my world. During the weekdays I have a lot of time and I'd like to spend my weekdays doing what I love which is spending time with animals, cats and dogs. Hence here I am.
We have always had fur babies since I was little so I am well aware of cat&dog first aid, potential feeding regimes, walks and toilet time; and of course play time
I am happy to bathe and comb fur babies, pet sit at your residence during weekdays or as and when needed and take the pets for walks. I am a animal lover and enthusiastic pet centre – your pets happiness is my priority! Fun, exercise, and snuggles guaranteed! I aim to tailor care, love, and attention to your beloved fur baby or babies.
Let me know about the likes and dislikes so I can personalise their experience
My experiences are personal and of friend's fur babies - including walks, feeding, shower times and sitting while they have been away on holidays be it for a few days or few weeks.
My fur baby is fully vaccinated and I would appreciate the same from you.
I am up to date with my vaccinations including Covid and tetanus.
Hope to meet many more like minded people and be of help to their fur babies.

Hi! My name is Hahna, and I’m a dedicated animal lover with a deep passion for caring for pets of all kinds. I’ve always had animals in my life—from dogs and cats—and I truly believe that pets are family. My motivation for becoming a pet sitter stems from my love of animals and the joy I feel when I’m around them. I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy to look after your furry (or feathered!) family members, and I aim to provide the same love and attention you would give them yourself.

I have previous experience pet sitting for friends and neighbors and always make sure each pet feels comfortable and safe. I provide regular updates and follow any care instructions closely. For the safety of all pets in my care, I only accept vaccinated animals into my home. You can trust me to give your pets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve while you’re away!
