Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Kaukapakapa home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Kaukapakapa.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Kaukapakapa home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

My name is Katie and I've been pet sitting for 25 years. I have experience with small animals up to not so small animals. Domestic and exotic pets-pigs, sheep, reptiles, birds, you name it. I have had family dogs and cats my whole life, had pet rats, fish, hamsters and a gecko as a child. Got my own dog as soon as I had my own house. I currently have a dog named Maze and a cat named Jeff.
I spend lots of quality time with my clients, including tailored enrichment activities. Photo updates are sent daily, they will feel like a celebrity! I will also take care of any home things while you're away such as watering plants, getting the mail, and putting the bins out. I offer discounts for multiple animals. Available between Mt. Eden and Helensville. $45 base rate, additional fee may apply for extra duties/animals.
Excellent references available upon request.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers :-)

Passionate Dog Walker

Hey there! I'm Jacqui, an animal lover with a background as an assistant in Vet Nursing. My passion for animals has been a lifelong adventure that started in my childhood. From riding horses to nurturing my furry and woolly friends on our lifestyle block in Coatesville, animals have always held a special place in my heart. However, after 6 years in an office job in the corporate world, I decided to turn back to my passions in my spare time.
I offer dog walking services in Coatesville, Riverhead, Rodney areas and the Bays on the North Shore.

My hours are:
Each dog walk is between 30min - 60min.
Morning ️
Pick up - As early as 7am
Latest drop off - 8.15am

Lunchtime
12 - 1pm (between 30min to an hour depending on whether I am working from home or in the office)

Afternoon ️
Pick up - 4pm
Latest drop off - 7pm

Weekends
Mornings 7am - 12pm
Evenings 4pm - 7pm

I typically walk pets at a local beach or park for 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how active the pet is.

I will keep you updated on each walk with the track details and photos of your pet / keep you in the loop with how they are going.

Home visits are between 45 - 1 hour
I will feed, clean, give medication, interact with your pet and provide what is required. I am also happy to do other household duties like water plants, bring in the mail etc. I have experience with Dog, Cats, Guinea pigs, Rabbits, Rats, Lizards, Sheep and Horses. You name it.

If you request your pup to enjoy some company during our walks, my friendly female Border Collie would be delighted to tag along as a buddy. She's a well behaved social butterfly and loves making new friends!
Let's schedule a meet-and-greet to discuss how I can tailor my services to meet your dog's specific needs and preferences. I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend!

My motivation to become a pet sitter comes from a love for animals, especially dogs. I have two dogs of my own, a Jack Russell and a Maltese-Jack Russell mix, both of who have taught me so much about the importance of providing attentive and loving care. Through my experience caring for them and other families pets, I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs and personalities and know how to properly care for them and to make sure they get all the walks and activity that they need.
My partner has also cared for many dogs, and I've been fortunate to share in this passion. Together, we have gained valuable experience looking after dogs of all sizes and breeds for others while they are away, and all our experiences have been incredibly positive. I truly enjoy the opportunity to bond with new dogs and ensure they feel comfortable and happy in a familiar and loving environment. I often like taking younger energetic dogs down to the beach or a park and making sure they get plenty of time to run around and play and for older dogs I love taking them on a slow relaxed walk at their pace.
I take great pride in providing a safe and enriching experience for each dog I care for, and I strive to make sure all pets feel at home while their families are away.

Your Dog Deserves More Than Just a Walk
Professional dog walking • enrichment • adventure • training

Local walks — 30 minutes minimum
Park, beach & adventure outings — 1 hour minimum
Drop-off care — a few hours
You'll know where your dog has been, what they've been experiencing and — most importantly — that they're having a great time. ️
More than exercise
A tired dog isn't necessarily a fulfilled dog.
Dogs benefit from opportunities to sniff, explore, investigate, problem-solve, learn and make appropriate choices.
I use current, science-based knowledge of canine behaviour, welfare and learning to make our time together meaningful as well as enjoyable.
My approach is positive, reward-based and welfare-focused. I want dogs to want to participate, making training and learning motivating and enjoyable without relying on harsh tools, intimidation or unnecessary punishment.

If you're looking for someone who will treat your dog as an individual, genuinely care about their wellbeing and give them more than a quick walk around the block, I'd love to hear from you.
Science-based • Reward-based • Welfare-focused • Dog-centred
Message me with your dog's age, breed, personality and what you're looking for, and let's see what we can create for them.

I also offer:
• Basic First Aid
• Medication Administration
• Nail Clipping
• Basic Grooming
