Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Karamu home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Karamu.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Karamu home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi, my love for our four legged friends started when I was very young when I got Mao and Ching, our Japanese spitzs when I was 8 years old. Unfortunately I lost them because of old age and didn't have anymore pets until I was already working. I got a Rottweiler named Skype and he grew up to be a very loving and playful big baby. I lost him to cancer. I am left with my fur nephew, Mustache, a loving dachsund/shitszu who is now in the Philippines with my parents. I miss him a lot and I only get to see him on video calls. I have a lot of hugs and love to give to our furry friends and I love walking and running around outdoors. They give me so much energy and pleasure just being around them. Seeing them happy and able to run around witht them and play with them gives me so much joy. I would be make sure that I would be very good with them and treat them as if they were my own. Looking forward to meeting and spend time with them. Would like to care of vaccinated dogs of any breed. My experience with taking care of them, playing with them and taking them to walk outside.

Reliable and Caring Pet Sitter- Your Pet's News Best Friend!

I've always had a deep love for animals, if anything I'd say animals are a lot better than most humans (they won't gossip behind your back and they'll love you unconditionally) and pet sitting allows me to turn that passion into a service that helps pet owners feel at ease. I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy and attentive caring for your pets when you're away. Whether it's daily walks, feeding or simply providing companionship, I make sure every pet in my care feels safe, loved and loved.
I'm willing to dog walk and do overnight stays. My home is located in Hillcrest.
I have experience with a variety of pets, including dogs, cats and small animals. From energetic pups needing long walks to senior pets requiring gentle care, I adapt to their individual needs. I ensure a clean, stress free environment and stick to their usual routines and minimise any anxiety.
For health and safety reasons, I only accept vaccinated pets. I look forward to meeting your furry friend and providing them with all the best care possible!

Weekend Pet Sitter Who Treats Your Pets Like Family
I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Although I didn't grow up with pets, I dreamed of having a dog since I was four years old, and that dream became a reality when I cared full-time for my sister's dog, Cookie, for two years during the pandemic. Cookie was an extremely shy and anxious pup when my sister rescued her from a shelter. But once we slowly introduced her to interacting with one person at a time and widened her trust circle, her personality truly shined. The key was patience and positively distracting her from any behaviours that we wanted to discourage. Looking after her brought me so much joy and confirmed how much I love spending time with animals.
While I'm a financial analyst by profession and don't have professional pet care experience, I am reliable, responsible, and genuinely enjoy caring for furry companions. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention while you're away.

ABOUT ME: Kia ora! I'm Luna and I'm a postgraduate student at The University of Waikato. My husband and I are a child-free couple & used to have two furbabies in the Philippines. Since Philippines in not in the approved list of NZ to transport pets from, we couldn't get them here YET because we need to save up for full pet migration agency service. Our babies are Aloy (female, local Filipino dog breed) and Kylo (a mixed breed Beagle and Bully; unfortunately, he died just last October 17, 2024 due to blood parasitism and it broke our hearts totally).
MOTIVATION: While saving up funds to get Aloy. here in NZ, I'm looking to channel my love for furbabies here and earn some extra income through dogsitting. I also wish to do this as part of honoring Kylo's life. It would be nice to help families take care of their furbabies while they are away of have some other tasks to attend to in a day. It would be a great pleasure for me.
NEIGHBORHOOD: I live in Hamilton East and have a good neighborhood and clean pathwalks for dog walks. It is accessible to nearby parks like Galloway Park, Steele Park, and all the way to Hayes Paddock and the river walk.
AVAILABILITY: I'm relatively free during the Summer break, and can be available late afternoons and evenings during the semester.

We are Peter and Milly, together we are PillyPets! We are from London but travelling in New Zealand on a working holiday visa. We both grew up with pets, bunny rabbits and cats but we love all animals and can't wait to meet you and your pets.
We haven't been able to have our own pets in London but it would be amazing to take care of pets along the way on our travels. We have been house sitting since November 2024 in NZ, travelling around in a campervan and we've met so many lovely people and pets.We have years of experience taking care of small and medium sized dogs and in the last few months we have experience caring for large dogs also. We also have years of experience taking care of cats, Peter's family have lots of British Shorthair cats and we have also pet sit for cats and dogs sit on other pet sitting websites.
