Top cities for house sitting in New Zealand

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Feilding home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Feilding.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Feilding home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Kia ora! I’m Lyssa and my ambitions have always been involved with animals. Since I could walk, I was saving animals whether it was bumblebees or spiders or even ducklings that got abandoned. I was always willing to help them no matter what size or colour or even whether they could sting me or bite me. I would absolutely love to care for your animals so you're able to go away and enjoy a nice break from reality. I have a fair experience with birds, cats, dogs, hedgehogs, lizards ( specifically beardies ) and even horses. I currently have 3 dogs and 2 bearded dragons where I live. I put love into all my clients' pets whether big or small. I love them the same as my own pets.
I can ensure that your animals will be in the most caring and loving hands.
Important note: My partner is my safe space so he will be staying with me at housesits ( i still always check with individual clients ). I also suffer with severe nightmares and anxiety sometimes so he's my support person when I struggle.

Hi I'm Olivia
I've grown up surrounded by pets my whole life as well as farm animals. I'm a vet student at Massey and love to be active!
A little bit about me: I grew up in Gisborne on a sheep and beef farm with all the pets you can imagine from rabbits to calves, pet lambs, cats, chickens and foals! We have four working dogs at home as well as a Labrador who is our gorgeous old house dog. I am confident around dogs and understand anxious or fractious dogs and how to deal with them. I have lots of experience with dog waking and looking after other peoples dogs as I completed this for service hours for Duke of Edinburgh Award. I love to run and walk usually for around an hour each day, so would love to take your furry friend with me!
I can also offer house sitting and pet sitting at your home.

Hey! I'm Paris and I'm looking for some side work to earn me some extra cash for the new year. I'm great with animals and I absolutely adore them! I have 2 little shitzu girls and a chunky tabby cat and they are my babies. I have around 2 years of experience looking after my friends and families pets plus 13 years of taking care of my own. I believe I would be a great person to have the privilege of looking after your fur babies :) I am a tidy, reliable, friendly girl and I'll always put your furry friends first when they are in my care. I especially love dogs that have a bit of energy cause it gives me some entertainment too! I am based In Palmerston North so would prefer to stick to anywhere in the city but I'd be more than happy to travel as far as longburn and ashurst. I look forward to meeting you and your little (or big) friends! For overnight stays with your pets I will be giving them food and water when needed, taking them on walks, playing with them, giving them some cuddles and attention so they don't get bored or lonely! And of course keeping them distracted from missing they're mum/dad! When walking depending on your comfort I like to take my dogs on car rides to walking areas such as parks, dog parks and the river track. But of course I'm more than happy to take them just on a walk around the neighbourhood blocks, in the city central and nearby dog friendly parks! I usually like to take them for about at least a 40 minute walk so they have plenty of exploring to do, with water breaks of course! So far I have experience with husky's, shitzus, and german shepherds but of course that's not going to stop me from meeting some new little friends!

I'm a huge animal lover, and I'm so excited about the possibility of being your pet sitter! From the moment I could walk, I've been drawn to animals. I grew up with dogs, cats, lambs, bunnies, and Guinea Pigs so I understand the joy and responsibility that comes with caring for pets.

My main motivation for pet sitting is simple: I genuinely love spending time with animals. I find their unique personalities and quirks endlessly fascinating. Seeing a pet happy and comfortable in my care brings me so much joy. I also understand how important it is for pet owners to have peace of mind when they're away. Knowing that their furry, scaled, or feathered family members are safe, loved, and well-cared for is crucial, and I strive to provide exactly that.

My services include everything from basic care like feeding, watering, and walks to more specialized needs like administering medication or providing playtime and enrichment activities. I'm comfortable with all types of pets, from dogs and cats to birds, reptiles, and small mammals. I'm also happy to customize my services to meet your pet's individual needs and preferences. I'm reliable, trustworthy, and committed to providing the best possible care for your beloved companions.

Have you been coming home burnt out but your 4 legged companion still needs their exercise and attention? Are you planning a trip away without your fur babies? I would love the opportunity to help out! I would best describe myself as a highly organised and reliable pet sitter with a passion for animal care. I currently am 23 years old and work as a dental assistant. I have a fur baby of my own she is a tabby girl who is super friendly and gentle. I absolutely love caring for people and animals alike! I currently have experience with my own pets (I have grown up with dogs of various breeds and sizes) and pets of friends & family and would love if you gave me the opportunity to keep your pet safe and active. I am passionate about cooking, baking, rollerskating and anything crafty or outdoorsy! Rates are not set as I am not quite sure of what to charge as of yet, can be available for the right hours with the ability to provide consistency where needed. I live in a town home with plenty of parks and off road walking areas. I love checking out new walks so if there's a preference as to where I walk your bestfriend please let me know! I have currently been walking a 9 year old Jack Russell every evening and we are loving it! My partner and I love to keep active and he would be happy to help out hands on with the care of your Bestfriend :)
