Hi, as a trained vet nurse, general animal lover and dog owner of forever. I have my own business Fetch &amp; Frolic, (on Facebook), I am out walking mine and others daily. Doing lots of house sitting and a bit of home boarding.I have been doing pack walks for a long time and not long ago moved into more challenging dogs for one on one walks and training sessions.With 4 adults living in the home there is often little time the house is not attended, we all walk, play and snuggle yours dogs.We love our shared lives with our babies and know how important it is to be able to trust them with others when we travel.&nbsp;
We have several animals of our own, three well walked dogs, 11 chickens whom happily stay at home with family if we are at yours.
Our walks often consist of some lead walking with gentle training and taking time to get to know the dog. There is a bit of footpath walking then into bush and tracks. This is from our home. I am often out in the wider reachers of the Nelson region and doing tracks with mine and other peoples dogs.
So any given day there is about 1.5 hours walking, if your dogs is is up for it.
We do enjoy a romp down some of the beach spots around the town, I love going to the Glenduan to watch the waves and enjoy the track, dogs love the sniffs and fun. The maitai or the Brook tracks are regular spots you will also find me.
For at our home stays we prefer a later afternoon 5/6pm drop off and pick ups, preference is already well walked and this allows a better understanding of how the house works for them. It is normally quieter around this time. We are able to do a short walk with owners then along the tack to get an idea of the best commands and behaviors if you feel this is neededI would like a phone call with you, to assess temperament and needs, for them coming into my home followed by a visit if possible for all to meet.Our home works well for most dogs the environment allows for playing and enrichment, snuggles and beds/beanbags to hang out on inside/outside access at all times. We are able to set up their crate if preferes. Please bring their food so the transition is easier.&nbsp;

We’re also lucky to have a large, secure outdoor space where dogs can safely run, play, and burn off energy. It’s perfect for games like fetch, exploring, or just relaxing in the fresh air. If suitable, your dog may also have the opportunity to socialise and play with our dogs, who are friendly and well-socialised — but this is always done gradually and based on temperament to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
For daycare and boarding, I keep numbers small so each dog gets proper attention. I take time to introduce dogs slowly and safely to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, sleep, and exercise. Dogs are always supervised when together, and I prioritise a calm, controlled environment.
Because I have a young child at home, safety is something I take very seriously. Dogs are never left unattended in situations where safety could be compromised, and I ensure all interactions are managed carefully and respectfully.
I also have a background in teaching, which means I’m reliable, communicative, and attentive to individual needs. I’m comfortable working with different temperaments, including energetic dogs, nervous dogs, puppies, and older dogs who may need a slower pace.

Availability &amp; Services: 
I’m available for pet care mornings, afternoons, and most evenings - I am very flexible regarding time/day for house visits and sittings.
 Dog Walking – Walks are typically 30 minutes, but can be longer if required, depending on your dog’s energy levels. I enjoy beach walks, parks, and safe neighbourhood strolls. If your pup has a favourite route, I’m happy to follow their routine! I can take them to The Back Beach, Tahunanui Beach Dog Park, or The Grampians for a good hill climb, even Marsden Valley Dog Park—whatever suits them and their energy levels.
 Home Visits (Dog/Cat Feeding &amp; Check-ins) – Visits are around 30 minutes per trip and include feeding, fresh water, litter cleaning, playtime, and cuddles (if your cat is up for it!). I can also water plants, bring in the mail, and take out the bins.
 House Sitting – I can stay overnight and work from your home during the day (as long as there’s WiFi), ensuring your pets have company for most of the day and all evening. More companionship = less pet stress, especially in their familiar home environment. I also keep an eye on security, water plants, enjoy gardening and maintain a tidy home while you're away.
 Additional Care – I have experience administering oral medication to both dogs and cats. If your pet needs extra care, just let me know.
