I am a mother of three children, aged 17, 15 and 11. I work part time, mostly from home. I have taken on a new role that means I do need to be out and about for a few hours, a few days per week. Your dog would need to be ok with this and safe to leave at home, inside, with my 2 dogs. My husband also works from home quite a bit too, but this is not always guaranteed. We do have a pretty full house of animals already, but always love to welcome more, particularly my youngest who is an absolute animal lover. I recently found a search on her iPad asking "how do I convince my dad to get another cat" because obviously 2 cats and 2 dogs aren't enough for her :)

Our two golden retrievers are typical of the breed, they love all dogs and people and are constantly asking for attention and affection. They absolutely love having more dogs to play with, and as a household of animal lovers we love that too. We have a fully fenced backyard and front yard that can be separated if needed. We also have a heated swimming pool that the dogs love to use, and plenty of toys for them to play with.

I am aware that some dogs may need a more quiet space to feel comfortable, so I will be very considerate about their needs if this is the case. We can easily seperate the animals and give them a safe space to relax if your dog is more sensitive, elderly or just needs some quiet time by themselves. Our two are still quite young, so energetic and playful, but also do calm down considerably after the first few minutes, and are very loving towards each other, they are closely bonded and share a deep connection.

Our dogs are loved members of the family and enjoy the freedom to roam the house, they sleep on the couch, hang out on my bed during the day, spend as much time outside as they wish, or spend their time sleeping in a cosy spot. They generally live their best lives. They love going to the beach, swimming, going for walks, or going to the local park. We also have some amazing bush walks close by, including the new Kauri Glenn board walk which is perfect for a pleasant walk in the shade. I spend most of the day with them, take them out when possible and give them all the love that they most certainly deserve.

We had a great experience when River was a puppy staying at a pet sitter's house, after he had a bad experience staying at a kennel. I really appreciated the fact that I knew he was safe, happy and cozy in someone else's home rather than in a dog kennel where his gentle golden retriever nature made him feel too anxious. I hope that we can offer that same experience too.
