I’m a passionate animal lover and experienced pet owner. I am in my forties, with a wonderful family and am a qualified secondary teacher. I am taking a break from teaching full-time to pursue my MCONS (Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy) at the University of Canterbury. This means my availability is flexible, and I have availablility during the day. I have experience caring for abandoned and infirm kittens and have had pets with disabilities that have specific care requirements (I can administer medicine as needed).

I currently have one cat, but I am also a registered foster carer with the SPCA; because of this, I cannot provide a day stay for any pets on our property. I have cared for pets as an adult for well over twenty years.

My preference is caring for cats and other furry creatures like rabbits and small dogs. I can provide care for your pets through home visits while you are away, up to two a day for half an hour (more is negotiable for an extra fee), where I will feed, care for, and play with your furry friend so that they feel secure and loved. I have used this service for my pets previously, so I understand that you know your pet/s needs and will be able to share your expectations with me and what your pet needs most. This motivates me to be a pet sitter - our pets are our family, and I’m dedicated to ensuring your pet feels safe, secure, and loved in your absence. I am also happy to water the plants, collect the mail, etc., on your behalf, ensuring your home is safe while you are away. I ensure that I clean all items used and leave the house in the best possible state.

I am open to dog walking small to medium-sized dogs in the Christchurch region (local preferred). I can do approximately half-hour walks (negotiable) in places of your choosing for one or two dogs. I would be open to house-sitting for short periods on a case-by-case basis. I am happy to discuss this with you and see if it would work for both of us.

As both a teacher, a parent and therapist-in-training (to both humans and fur babies), I pride myself on being reliable, responsible, and attentive to each pet's needs. My goal is always to give you peace of mind, knowing that your furry friend is in caring hands.
