Kia ora, I'm Grace and I would love to meet you and your pets! Growing up on a quiet street in Island Bay Wellington, my sister and I were constantly hunted down by neighbours and family members to feed, walk, and look after their animals. We loved helping out so much that it quickly became our dream to have a dog-walking business, which we managed to do for a few months in primary school before life commitments took over!  

Since then, my love of animals has continued to grow, and I still dream of having a dog-walking business someday. I was so glad to find Pawshake as it now allows me to connect with awesome animals, as well as help out equally animal-obsessed people!  

I currently work at Te Nukuao Wellington Zoo, which has also fostered my love of meeting new animals and allowed me to learn so much more about their care and welfare. I am happy to offer house-sitting services as I understand the need for animals to be familiar with their surroundings, as well as maintain a routine! I am also very confident in looking after all animals of every shape and size. While I may not look very strong, I have had plenty of experience handling large dogs such as German Shepherds and German Pointers. I have a lot of experience with young puppies, including toilet training and basic command training. I have also looked after both elderly dogs and cats who have higher needs, such as giving medication / more constant attention. No matter what size or age your pet is, I am happy to look after them!

As previously mentioned, I have been a tenant for the last 10 years and have had no complaints from landlords to date! I would be extremely respectful of your home and space should I be picked to help look after your pet. My job hours are standard 9 am- 5 pm Monday to Friday; however, I do work from home permanently on a Monday so I can keep your pet company then, if required. Luckily, working for an organisation full of animal lovers means I can also be flexible with working from home on other days, so I am readily available to look after your pets.

I take this job as seriously as my full-time one and can assure you that if you were to leave your pets in my care, you would come home to happy and healthy fur babies, who have had a positive experience in your absence.
