From a very early age we have had dogs, cats and birds in our home and they are very much treated as extended members of the family each with their own personalities and quirks to work through.

When we moved to Christchurch we lived in a caravan for a while with our Budgie - Kilty

As soon as we built our home we adopted Herman a Doberman X from the RSPCA. After the earthquakes we adopted Bella a Ridgeback X as a way to give back to the community and as a companion for Herman, who has since passed and we still miss him. Right now I am looking after a friends Chocolate Lab x Springer Spaniel he is the sweetest and both Dupes and Bella thrive when we have extra friends for them to interact with

I discovered Pawshake when I was looking to find someone to look after Bella, because we were taking a trip and she wasn't able to come with us like she would usually do.  

But when I saw this site I thought, this would be a perfect opportunity to have new fur-friends and give their owners a little peace of mind if they are away and not able to take their dogs with them.

 For walks, I pick your dog up from your house, take him/her for a decent walk/run round and drop him/her back
home. If we are travelling to the forest or beach for example, I ask your dog has a harness so I can clip them in with a dog seatbelt 🧡 One of my favourite places to go is Bottle Lake forest, where we go depends on your location but always away from the road if we are going off leash. 

🏡 For boarding, they stay at my house and become part of the family. We have a 30min morning and evening walk each day and Saturdays is usually a longer trip to the beach. I ask that you bring all their food, bowl, bed / blanket and favourite toy. I do not offer 24/7 care (unless you add the daycare option, for constant supervision and attention) I may leave 1/2 times per day for 3-5 hours at a time, when there is no humans to watch them the dogs are kept seperate. For long term boarding I am happy to drop round to your place once a week to clear mail, put out bins and water plants etc

💊 I can administer oral and topical medication and provide basic training to dogs; sit, down, stay, wait. I'm happy to brush or wash your dogs if needed. 

 I love animals and the company they provide 🐾
