Hey dog owners!

I am guy in my late thirties who lives in the Burnside area of Christchurch. I work as a lawyer and would like to: 

1. get some exercise on my lunch breaks; and 

2. hang out with animals a bit. 

I have time to visit your pet(s) for up to an hour each day during my lunch break, or walk them, or can spend the day working remotely from your house looking after your pet at the same time :) Unfortunately, I can't have animals at my place right now but available to work from yours on occasion if that suits. 

While I have an affinity for animals generally, I love dogs and have been around them my whole life. I'm from a farming background originally, and so grew up with a pet labrador and about ten other sheep dogs that I loved just as much. I'm well accustomed to handling all sorts of dogs and am not intimidated by larger breeds (in fact I enjoy interacting with them more so than smaller ones!).

I'm a big believer in being kind, but firm. You can rest assured that with me, your pet will be looked after to the same degree you would look after him/her yourself, and he/she will be well exercised/fed/hydrated and entertained.

I have extensive experience (both through sitting on here, but also for friends) looking after German Shepherds; Vizsla; Labrador; Golden Retriever; Staffy; Rhodesian Ridgeback; and an Irish Wheaten, along with lots of mix breed dogs.

I of course also really like cats :)

Walks

A typical walk with me may include a short drive to a nice area, or if time is limited a half hour to one hour walk in your local area, and may also include a run (if your pet is so inclined)! 

Day sitting

If you'd like me to work from your house and look after your pet at the same time, a typical day sitting with me would include an outing with a walk (or run), perhaps a drive to a park or beach, throwing of balls or frisbee, and hanging out at the house. 

My availability

I work 9am until 5pm during the week and take lunch around midday to early afternoon. I'm also freely available on weekends. 

My rates

I'm aware my rates are at the higher end of what's advertised on here, however I firmly believe that with me you are getting the best in terms of someone who genuinely loves dogs, is good at handling them, and will take care of your pet like he/she is my own.

Unfortunately I am unable to accept bookings to look after your pet all day, unless that's at your place and I'm able to connect to your wifi and work while I'm there.
