We are a retired couple Yvonne and Iain with two doggies who love playmates but are chilled if guests prefer peace and quiet. On occasions in the past we have required dog sitters when going on an overseas holiday. Thus we know what dog owners want when leaving their darlings in the care of strangers. So we have decided that now in retirement with time on our hands we can provide that home away from home for your fur babies so you can relax and enjoy your planned holiday or last minute emergency knowing your darling is safe and loved.
While we are new to Pawshake, we are well used to having friends' dogs board with us over the many years we have been dog owners. And, as a retired registered nurse, I know my way around medication and special diets. If your furbaby is okay with our pair then we are happy to have them share our loving pet friendly home. No dog house here.


Hi! 
My name is James. I'm a 21 year old student looking for some casual work to help me save for my move to Wellington. I look after my 3 year old dog and my 1 year old cat daily so I have a lot of experience with both types of animals (my dog is also a mastiff x and quite large so no fear around bigger dogs). I'm happy and excited to look after animals in my multitudes of free time.
I can offer you a range of services when looking after your animals, including:
- House sitting /overnight care for your pet
-Daytime Care /Looking after your pet at your home or mine* during working hours
-Dog walking / I can offer walks/outings up to 2 hours at a time and up to twice a day for one animal. I can also provide trips to a local dog park as I have a car and a clean license. 
All of the above can include the following :
- oral medication administering
- feeding (at scheduled times if you require)
- grooming dogs (Washing, brushing, clipping nails)
- general playtime and interaction! most animals are very social and need energy and care regardless of age, so you and your family can rest assured they will recieve those things from me.
I can also take your pets to their vet appointment if you are unable to, and if housesitting, I'm also able to do minor household chores like watering plants if you're away.
My availability is 24/7 except for Friday between 5-10:30am, but my calendar will be kept updated for your convenience. I'm located on the north shore so for daytime services I would prefer to stick to this side of the bridge, but I can be flexible on this depending on where you live!
*Daytime care for your dog at my house is possible provided they are toilet-trained and vaccinated. 
Please note : unfortunately as my dog is cat-reactive and generally very exciteable we can't have your pets to stay overnight or cats to stay at all, but overnight stays in your home can be arranged.
