Hi! I'm Emily, I'm 28, and I work as a private music teacher after school hours with children as young as 5. I've lived with small dogs my entire childhood and in my early 20's I flatted with 2 greyhounds where we also frequently fostered or cared for other dogs, with up to 3 in the home at a time! Here, I learned a lot about their specific needs, and took a role in helping care for them as if they were my own. I often fed, walked and played with the dogs during the day while my housemates were working.

This includes:

- Recognising signs of distress

- Assisting traumatised dogs to feel safe being in the home and walking, going at the pace set by the dog

- Walking 2 large dogs on a leash at time

- Taking the dogs to the local park and adjusting my route to avoid triggers such as other dogs, loud vehicles and roads for the fosters, and any other individual needs the dog may have

- Communicating the dogs' unique triggers and boundaries to all guests

- Helping with feeds to ensure they are eating the correct food, and not giving them anything they couldn't have or without permission from the owner

Currently, I live with a cat and take the same ethics into helping her live her best possible life by helping with feeds, researching cat behaviour and buying toys to cater to her unique hunting instincts!

This includes:

- Learning her unique body language queues to ensure her boundaries are never crossed

- Maintaining a clean, safe home

- Buying low-to-the-ground toys such as tunnels and hiding spots to match her individual hunting instincts

- Buying toys the imitate birds etc and other real prey

- Assisting with feeds and ensuring she's fed the correct amount

I am in-tune with animals and their behaviours and am happy to administer medication with instruction. I have a car with blankets so I can transport pets in any emergencies arise.

Due to my schedule, I'm readily available and eager to help out 9-5 workers or parents during mornings and early afternoons. I'm primarily available between 9am - 2pm Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday and generally have full availability on Sunday.
