Howdy from Nicole and Luke 😊 

We’ve both always had a deep love for animals, and being a pet sitter allows us to combine that passion in a meaningful way. Combined, we have excellent experience in dog ownership, volunteering, fostering, and animal related education. We’ve held off on getting our own dog due to overseas trips, making pet sitting the perfect fit without the long-term commitment at this stage in our lives. We recently fostered an older dog, who we sadly had to euthanise due to terminal illness. This has deepened our desire to spread love and care to other pets, motivating us to sign up for this service.  

Our experience: 

• Valuable volunteer experience with DogWatch 
• Degree and PhD in Animal Science 
• Active foster parents with DogWatch (currently only respite care)
• Owned dogs in the past - German Shorthaired Pointers.   
• We are the ‘go to’ for sitting friends’ dogs such as Labs, mixed breeds, GSPs, pugs.  

What we offer:  

• Overnight short and long stay Dog Boarding 
• Any breed/size 
• We are very active, so your dog will enjoy plenty of walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. Minimum of 1 hour of walks per day dependant on dog requirements/age/ability (either 2 x 30 mins or 1 hour minimum). Off leash or on leash options.   
• We are lucky to have the Red Zone right outside the door, offering plenty of open space and peaceful river walks and off leash options.  
• Updates on how much your best friend is enjoying their holiday 😉, and of course any concerns or emergencies will be communicated immediately.   
• We are 5 minutes drive from New Brighton beach where we can take dogs for walks and runs.   
• One of us works at home full time with flexible hours, providing lots of company and supervision. The second is at home two days a week. Dogs will not be left alone for more than 3 hours during boarding, and 1 hour during Daycare.   
• Dogs would ideally sleep in the living area (bed or crated as required). They can move around the house as they like and will have access to the garden in the day time. The garden has ample shade.
• No other species in the house (adults, children or other pets) unless communicated and agreed.    
• Secure, fenced, property. Note front gate is lower than the rest of the fencing, at approx. 4ft (see photos). The rest of the fencing is between 6-7ft.  
• Can administer oral/topical medications  
• Basic command training (aligned to owners existing regime & training).   
• Flexible drop off/pick up time (within reason)   
• We frequently go away on adventures, but our calendar will be updated regularly for our availability.
