Hi! I’m Becca 👋 I’m a huge animal lover and would absolutely love to spend some of my spare time looking after your pets.

I grew up with cats and have always been surrounded by animals. My grandparents had a Labrador and a rescue dog who I spent loads of time with growing up, and my auntie had 10 cats, so I’m very comfortable in a house full of furry friends!

In my 20s I lived with a miniature Dachshund in London and spent lots of time caring for her, and since then I’ve regularly helped friends with their pets, including looking after my friend’s Cavapoo and a golden retriever. I’m comfortable with both cats and dogs and genuinely love getting to know their individual personalities.

Dog walking 🐕

I’m really flexible and happy to tailor walks to what your dog enjoys and needs. I can offer anything from a 30-minute stroll to a 90-minute adventure, and I’m generally available mornings, lunchtimes and evenings.

I live centrally on The Terrace, so there are loads of options depending on what your dog loves, from city walks and nearby trails to Oriental Bay. I also have a car and am more than happy to head further afield for longer adventures around places like Island Bay and the southern bays.

I work flexibly and from home a few days a week, which gives me plenty of options for daytime walks too. Whether your dog prefers a gentle sniff around the neighbourhood or a big adventure somewhere new, I’m happy to work around them.

Home visits 🏡

For home visits, my priority is keeping things as normal as possible so your pet feels comfortable and settled while you’re away. I’m happy to follow their usual routine, whether that’s feeding, fresh water, medication, playtime, cuddles, letting them outside or simply spending some time keeping them company.

I also really appreciate the trust involved in letting someone into your home. I grew up in a family who ran airbnbs, so I’m very conscious of treating someone else’s space with care and respect. I’ll always leave things exactly as I found them and treat your home as I would want someone to treat my own.

I’m also very happy to send photos and little updates after visits and walks, so you know your pet is happy and well looked after.

Unfortunately, as I currently live in rented accommodation I can’t have pets stay at my home. My partner and I are hoping to get a Labrador of our own in the next couple of years, but until then I’d love to get my animal fix by helping other people look after theirs!

Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I’ll treat them with the same care, attention and affection I’d want someone to give my own.
