Kia ora! I'm Heather. I have been pet sitting for friends and family for the past few years and grew up with a dog and several cats we adopted as kittens. I love animals and spending time with them fills my cup. I currently live with two very sweet cats - Tommy and Remy, as well as a very friendly neighborhood cat who often stops by, having decided our home is one of his many homes also - we call him Jack.

I have cared for cats who required daily administration of oral or topical medication. I have also been in a situation where I have had to urgently take a pet I was sitting to the vet. When pet sitting I typically send a photo and message once a day. I appreciate that it can be difficult being separated from your pet! If you would like more frequent or specific communication let's have a chat so you and your pet are both getting what you need.

I have walked and cared for dogs of a range of sizes. I understand that your dog may already have their favourite routes and friends to meet and am happy to follow these. My walks are around 30 minutes but understand that larger dogs may need longer which I am happy to accommodate. 

I am comfortable caring for lizards and rodents. I have previously worked with and handled a range of animals including native New Zealand fish and lizards as an environmental scientist and mice as a molecular biologist. 

I am currently in a stage of transition so am flexible and have a lot of availability during the week and weekends. I would love to spend this time caring for your pets.
