I have been a pet and house sitter for over 10 years pet and house sitting across New Zealand.

I am 6 monthly Pfizer Covid-19 boosted & annually Influenza vaccinated.

I have cat, chicken, rabbit (indoor and outdoor), sheep, fish and house sat all over the North and South Island. For cats that use cat flaps and cats that use litter trays. I have also successfully cat sat for a fussy Persian, nervous rescue cats & elderly cats. I am an animal lover and a keen trail runner so I love to house sit somewhere new so that I get to look after new furry friends and run somewhere new, or just I just run all over Wellington and check in with new animal coaches for pet therapy. I like to provide stimulating cat play with any cat toys you have or I bring ping pong balls with me, as well as grooming your cat with any brushes that you have.

I will always follow your pet's feeding routine and I have a specific set of questions that I ask at our pre meeting to ensure that I know everything about your pet and so that you feel very safe leaving them with me as well as your home.

Who is your preferred vet, where is your carrier, does your cat have medication, does your cat throw up fur balls and if so how often, have they thrown up recently, do they have current injuries or quirks, do they bring in presents (they always do for the sitter), are they an indoor or outdoor cat, do they have a litter tray, do they have water bowls, do they have toys, do they have brushes, are there cat bullies around, when are they fed, does half their wet food go back in the fridge, where is the door key to be left, how to contact the owner in emergency, how often to send pet updates, does client want daily pictures etc. Check diaries to confirm who is feeding breakfast and dinner on the first and last day of the sit.

If your pet has a set inside and outside routine, then I ensure they are inside and cat flaps are locked at their normal routine times and opened again first thing, as well as litter trays set up if needed.

I am also used to watering plants, mowing lawns, tending veggie patches, collecting courier parcels/letters and putting out rubbish. Anything that needs doing while you're away really, so that your house is as normal as possible for your pet and so burglars also believe you are home too. I also catch and release or dispose of birds, mice, skinks, or moths etc. that are brought in for me by your cat. I am used to looking after and catching pet rabbits. I have had pet gerbils, budgies, hamsters, gold fish, rabbits and guinea pigs. I am also used to looking after chickens and sheep.

As a qualified preschool teacher and trained in human & veterinary clinical research, I am police vetted.

Post a car crash 3 years ago I now spend my mornings at Freyberg Pool & Gym for physical exercise classes, then afternoons at home resting with your pet at a pet sit, or online fighting my legal accident case, while enjoying pet therapy at a pet sit. At pet sits your pets gain the benefit of me spending more time with them. On Saturday and Sunday mornings I trail run and then spend the afternoons with your pet at a pet sit.

I am also happy to sit for longer sits from 4-5+ weeks or 2-3 months while owners are on holiday overseas, working on the north island or in the northern hemisphere & work in with their time zones to give pet updates. I am also happy to post pictures/videos to show "proof of life" of your pet and always check how often you wish to receive updates on your pet at the pre sit meeting. I have many many pictures and videos of clients' cats, as everyone wants to see their loved ones and no one wants to see me, hence there are so few of my face with cats, apologies.

If I do not reply to your message straight away it is because I am at the gym physical rehabbing or trail running. I will always get back to you on my break or at the end of my run as I run with my phone.

I am a nonsmoking, non-drug taking, nonparty animal and vegetarian (mainly vegan), but I happily serve pet food & meat to your cat. I won’t cook meals for your cat.

On arriving I always message the owners to state that I am successfully in the home and that I have successfully seen their pet and send a photo to confirm. Then message again when I have fed the first meal.

Also on arriving I check whether the dishwasher needs emptying, if laundry washing needs hanging out to dry (change of bedding washed for my arrival), check all windows and doors are locked for security (can get forgotten in the packing rush) and read and check any notes left for me on the pet and the house. Message owners if I don’t understand anything.

On leaving the sit I also message to state that I have fed their pet, washed the bedding, hung it up to dry, cleaned the house and successfully locked up and returned the key to the agreed location.
