About Annik

Hi, we are Annik and Antoine,

We arrived in New Zealand on March 1st 2023 with a 23 months working holiday visa aiming to do wwoofing, as well as visit the country by bike and van. We did wwoofing and house sittings for most of our time since we arrived and month of bike in Canterbury. The farm we have lived most of the time in was in Amberley. It was a small dairy farm with goats and sheep, and a big garden. We have built a nice relationship and intend to help them throughout our time here. We help them with the animal care chores, the milking, and other projects, as well as cooking and maintaining the house.

We are actually travelling in the North Island until February.

Antoine, 32 years old. In Canada, I worked in the train industry in transportation logistics and before that, I studied in interior design and work in a kitchen cabinetry company. I am handy, resourceful and quiet. We have a multigenerational house with my parents that are also Pawshake dog sitters. We are in contact with dogs everyday and it is something that we like a lot. I started to do house sitting two years ago and am still in contact with some of the dog owners. Living in the same space and sharing animal love make a great relationship between people and is a great and rewarding experience for us.

Annik, 36 years old. After 10 years working as a communications professional in the health sector (blood bank) in Québec, Canada, I’m taking a break to travel, learn and develop new skills. I am organized, reliable and responsible. I always had and loved animals since I am young: dogs, fish, birds, a horse and cats. In addition to the experience I have with my own animals, in 2021 I had a wwoofing experience on a land in south British Columbia in Canada where they offered animal therapy. For a month, I took care of 30 animals on a day-to-day basis (horses, pigs, sheep, donkeys, chicken). I begun to pet sitting a year ago in Québec.

-We offer dog/house sitting.
We are doing dog sitting together and have no kid or animal.
When we will be at your place, we will walk the dog at least one or twice a day depending on the dog needs. We normally will take the dog to explore a bit the close by area to walk with him in nice walk in nature. We would live at the animal house for the duration of the sit and stay with him unless we need to go shop for a short period of time. We are clean people and always leave the house in a good state. We will send you daily news or photo of the dog, if desired. We can also take care of garden and some other household tasks if needed.

-We offer walk for dogs Mount Maunganui/Tauranga/Papamoa.

Here is a typical walk: go see the dog at the house and take a
little time with him. Go for a walk from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the dog needs. Come back to the house, check water and food. Stay with the dog for around 15 minutes to let him calm down and than leave.

Looking forward to meet your fur friend and you,

Annik and Antoine

House Sitting
Natasja, 2023-12-14

We have two lovely retrievers and Annik and Antoine looked after them for a whole week! We had never left them before for that long and had actually never left Hazel at all before as she’s still a puppy so we were quite nervous. Safe to say Annik and Antoine looked after our home and puppy’s as if they were their own. We could not have been more happy with their communication, cleanliness and how happy our dogs were when we got home. We would absolutely have them stay again and would recommend them to anyone wanting some help with their pet. They went above and beyond for us and I am sure they would for you too!

House Sitting
Ruth And Will, 2023-08-09

Annik (and Antoine) were wonderful sitters. From the moment they first visited, our dog Molly was enamored with them both. They are clearly both animal lovers. We returned home after six nights away to very happy and contented pets, and a very clean and tidy house. Annik and Antoine were great communicators through the booking process, and sent regular updates and photos of the animals during their stay at our house. We highly recommend Annik and Antoine as sitters.
