About Me: 

I have had experience with dogs for most of my life. I grew up with dogs in our family, so caring for them, understanding their behaviour, and being responsible for their daily routines has always been a normal part of life for me. I am also a dog owner myself and have had my Jack Russell, Roo, for four years. Looking after her has given me hands-on experience with feeding routines, exercise, behaviour, and the responsibility that comes with caring for a dog every day.

My approach with dogs is always kindness first, and I like to take things slowly, especially when they are in a new environment or meeting someone new. I understand that some dogs can take a little time to warm up, so I am patient and let them settle at their own pace.

Exercise is also a big part of my routine. I walk my dog every day, either along local tracks or at the beach, as I know regular exercise is important for both a dog’s wellbeing and their behaviour at home.

In the event of an emergency, my priority is always the safety and wellbeing of the pet. If a pet becomes unwell or injured, I would contact the owner immediately to keep them informed and follow any instructions they have provided. If urgent veterinary care is needed, I would take the pet to the nearest vet or the vet specified by the owner.

I always make sure I understand important information beforehand, such as the pet’s normal routine, any medical conditions, medications, and the preferred veterinary clinic. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they feel reassured while they are away.

I have also used Pawshake myself when I’ve gone away and needed someone to look after Roo, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and kind. I only accept vaccinated pets to ensure the safety of all animals.
