Kia ora! We are a young family based in Orewa. My wife and I are very comfortable with dogs - we have each always had dogs of our own both growing up and in early adult life. We moved to New Zealand 5 years ago from the US. We now have young kids (2,4,6 years) who love dogs, but due to our occasional travelling overseas, we are logistically unable to have our own. But that means we are very happy to help other families with theirs!  

• When am I available? I do work shift work in the hospital and my wife works part time, so there is an adult and a kid around the house most hours.  
• Services provided: We are open to having a dog in our home for a short or expended period. We are also happy to help with local walks. Comfortable giving medications and basic grooming.
• Communication: Very happy to keep in touch with text, calls, and photos.  
• Walks: Would have children around for most walks, happy for 30min-1hr walks. We can take across street to our local park or estuary path.
• Dog hosting: Dogs able to go in to all parts of the house. Encouraged to stay off couch. Must be housetrained. Fenced in yard and deck with easy access and view of yard from main kitchen/living area through large windows. Would have dog comfortable kids around often so must be comfortable and kind with kids. We do not have a crate or dog beds, would need dogs sleeping arrangement to be supplied.
• House details: Our home is a single story with wood floors and carpet mixed. We have a small but fenced in yard with grass. There are no other pets in our house.  
• Neighborhood details: Quiet street, safe street. 3 minute walk from Orewa surf club and beach. 3 minute walk opposite direction from park and estuary track for walks.
• Pet Experience: My wife grew up with 2-3 dogs in the house for most of her life. I have always had a dog until moving to New Zealand.
