We are a close-knit family who love dogs and we spend a fair bit of time learning about dog psychology and how to communicate effectively and meet each dog's needs. We have one very well balanced boy that is used to sharing his space with other dogs and is an excellent teacher for younger dogs. We've had dogs for over 10 years and we now have a 7 year old German Wirehair Pointer - Hank, who is wonderful with other dogs. I am 41 years old, a Manager for a national NGO and I work from home. Meg is our elder daughter (15) and Lexi is our younger daughter (12), who is the dog trainer in training and is responsible for the fun stuff, like play, walks and cuddles. Lexi has been dog sitting for over a year and has four regular clients. We live out in Laingholm, at the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges where we have an abundance of awesome on-leash and off-leash tracks and beaches to walk dogs right at our doorstep. I am home most days and we have a decent-sized fenced yard with plenty of space. We also practice recall training and basic obedience as needed with all dogs and we are in the process of working with our dog on scent detection skills. 

Included in our service is at least one walk or activity per day, usually about an hour long, with our boy Hank. We have amazing trails, parks and beaches on our doorstep that dogs love to explore. Apart from Hank, we prefer to have one dog in our care at any given time, although sometimes we do have an overlapping stay. We also prefer to host neutered males only to avoid any dominance/ agression with Hank. We are able to administer basic meds and I have worked in wildlife rehabiliation so am comfortable caring for recovering animals. Dogs sleep inside on the upstairs landing, with access to Lexi's bedroom if they prefer to sleep closer to a person. During the week, I am home most days and on weekends we tend to stay close to home or take our dog with us on adventures. We will also send a few pics each day to update you on how your dog is doing and the cool stuff he is getting up to. We are mostly available during the weeks and weekends. Our current clients bring their dog's food, toys and bed for their stay.
