Kia ora! 

Ko Clara Hakaraia tōku ingoa, nō Ngāti Raukawa Te Au ki te Tonga te iwi. My name is Clara Hakaraia and I am currently based in Ōtaki Beach. I am a Celtic/Māori artist and student who has found themselves out of mahi for the first time in my life! It has been a scary prospect deciding where to go from here, however I have always carried a deep love and passion for animals. After being trusted to petsit for whānau and friends since moving to Ōtaki in 2023, I have gained valuable and diverse experience caring for many beautiful animals who I still remain close to.

I have experience caring for an elderly and half deaf dog for as long as 9 months consecutively, as well as my most recent experience where I cared for two 12-month old blue heeler puppies for three months. These were amazing opportunities where I learnt a lot about my capabilities as a carer and anchored my passion as a pet lover. My whānau have been cat lovers my whole life as we lived in a small apartment in the city. This is where my love of animals first grew and since leaving home I have missed the presence and company of animals.

If you believe I may be a fit for your furry friends' needs, please kōrero mai! I have experience pet sitting (dogs, cats, chooks), house sitting and dog walking. I have a positive and professional outlook when caring for animals and enjoy spending lots of time outside in te taiao, reading, walking, running, swimming and more!
