Hi, I'm Karen and I have been living in Queenstown for the past 4.5 years. My fiance (Andrew) and I have done a lot of dogsitting for our friends in the recent years. We have experience with a range of breeds, personalities, and energy levels. Some of the dogs we have had so far include a pug, viszla, border collie x Australian shepherd, golden retriever, bichon x miniature poodle, german shepherd. In summer we like to take the dogs out with us on different activities - a swim in the lake, cherry picking over in Cromwell, or out on a bike ride. In Winter when it's cold or raining, we prefer more of a cruisy day in front of the TV.

We live in a fully fenced house in Lower Shotover, right next to the Twin Rivers Trail. We also have two indoor cats, Charlie and Bean, who are very confident and friendly. They have been very good with all the dogs we have had, especially Bean who we have had since he was just 3 weeks old.

I work a mix of morning shifts or afternoon-evening shifts. Your dog will never be left alone for over 6 hours at a time (and they can never truly be alone because Bean won't let that happen! 🤣)

What I offer:

- two daily walks (up to an hour each depending on the dog's energy requirements)

- basic grooming and regular brushing (I am happy to bath the dog too if needed)

- nail trimming

- oral or topical medication if required

- a warm, loving home and plenty of attention

As a pet owner myself, I understand the feelings of unease when you leave your pet for an extended period of time. I send regular updates of your dog's adventures and photos/videos to keep you updated. I am happy to follow any routines that you have and continue any training (both my cats have learnt "sit", "paw", "stay", and "cuddles", and Charlie also knows "hush"). Your dog is also more than welcome to sleep on the bed, or if you prefer, in a crate or his/her own dog bed 😊
