My name is Rachel, and I would love the opportunity to meet and love your furry friends! 

I grew up in a home surrounded by animals, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and even a frog, so I have experience with a wide range of household pets.

My family also spent three years fostering animals through the SPCA. This gave me valuable experience working with animals that were nervous around people, helping them build trust and confidence before they found their forever homes. It was an incredibly rewarding experience and strengthened my passion for animal care.

I also have over two years of pet house-sitting experience, caring for a variety of animals. My longest house sit was six months while a family was overseas, giving me extensive experience maintaining pets' routines and ensuring they felt safe, happy, and well cared for in their own home.

Having recently moved out of home to the Lower Hutt area, I'm missing my own fur babies more than ever! I'd love the opportunity to take your dog for a walk, pop in to check on your pets, or provide plenty of cuddles and companionship for your small animals while you're away.

Outside of pet sitting, I am a Primary School Teacher and am involved in Scouting, so I have great references within the community.

What would booking with me look like?

Once-a-Day Pet Check-In

Going away? I can visit your pets once a day to make sure they're happy, comfortable, and well cared for in the familiarity of their own home.

Each daily check-in includes:

• 25 min visit including enrichment time (pats, playing with toys, etc) for your pet
• Fresh food and water.
• Cleaning and refreshing food and water bowls as needed.
• Toilet break for dogs or cleaning litter trays, hutches, or cages where required.
• Plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and companionship based on your pet's personality.
• A quick health and wellbeing check to make sure everything seems normal.
• Basic home care, such as bringing in the mail, watering indoor plants, opening or closing curtains, or putting out bins if requested.
• Regular photo updates and a message so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and safe.

Every visit is tailored to your pet's individual routine and needs, ensuring they receive plenty of love, care, and attention while you're away.

Dog Walking Session (30 minutes)

My 30-minute dog walks are tailored to suit your dog's age, fitness level, and personality. Whether they love an energetic adventure or a gentle stroll, I'll make sure they have a safe, enjoyable outing.

Each walk includes:

• A 30-minute walk at your dog's preferred pace.
• Plenty of sniffing, exploration, and positive interaction.
• Basic reinforcement of good walking manners (if desired).
• Lots of pats, praise, and cuddles (if your dog enjoys them!).
• A quick update with photos and a summary of how the walk went, so you know your pup had a great time.

My goal is for your dog to come home happy, exercised, and ready for a well-earned nap!

I believe every pet deserves to feel loved, safe, and cared for, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. You can expect lots of fun, patience, affection, and plenty of cuddles when you book with me!
