Hi, I’m Amy. I live with my family, two pugs and our Labrador puppy on our rural property on Hurford Road, near Oakura and New Plymouth. I have been walking and working with dogs for the past 6 years and have had dogs nearly all my life. We welcome a small number of guest dogs for stays that include family company, daily walks, supervised exploring and plenty of quiet rest. I like to get to know each dog—their habits, favourite things and what helps them feel at home. We’ll discuss your dog’s usual routine, exercise needs and sleeping arrangements before their stay. You’ll receive photos and updates so you know how they’re settling in. Dogs are fed separately, introductions are gradual, and time together depends on how comfortable they are with each other. There’s always room for a quieter routine. We have four children (ages 6-15) and dogs of our own, so our home best suits dogs who are comfortable in a family environment. A meet-and-greet is essential, and a trial overnight stay is recommended before longer bookings. Please bring your dog’s usual food, familiar bedding and any medication. Sleeping arrangements are agreed beforehand, including crate sleeping where that is already part of your dog’s routine.
