Hi, I’m Lucie, a dog-loving human mum and photographer based in Forest Lake, Hamilton. I’d love to welcome your dog into our home and give them a comfortable, caring place to stay while you’re away.

We’re lucky to live right next to a large park that includes a dog park, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks, fresh air and exploring. We both work from home (my lovely husband, Lex, every day, and me mostly as I sometimes need to go out for a shoot), which means your dog won’t be left alone and will have plenty of company throughout the day. My desk is next to a lovely sunroom where they can chill and play nearby, and they can take themselves to the backyard through the back door.

We don’t currently have any pets of our own, which means your dog gets all the attention and doesn’t have to share their space with resident pets. Our home is relaxed and dog-friendly, with a good balance of walks, playtime, company and downtime.

I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, medication if needed and any little habits that help them feel settled. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away, because I know it’s reassuring to see that your pup is happy and enjoying themselves.

We do have a few house rules: pets aren’t allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms, but they’ll have their own comfortable space to relax.

Most importantly, I’ll treat your dog with the same care, patience and affection I’d want for my own.

I grew up with dogs my whole life and my little family loves dogs! (It's just me, my husband and our almost 4 year old daughter at home) We would love to have a dog of our own one day, but for now we would rather hang out with yours!

We lived with our flatmate's dog and we loved him as our own. Looking after him, going on walks and picking up his poos 😅

I'm a freelance photographer (I can take lovely photos of your pup! Professional family and pets portraits are on offer if you're interested) and my husband Lex also works for himself as a designer. Which means we don't go to the office and are almost always home - would love to take care for your pet(s) and go for walkies with doggies! 

Our property is smoke free and we have a fenced backyard with fruit trees (good shade in summer) and plenty of space. Our home is pet friendly (previous owners had dogs), secure with security cameras, fully fenced, quiet and spacious. We live right next to Minogue park (great for walks and outings!)

Our ideal routine: walks, playtime, gardening/garden time, company during the day.

Where they sleep: inside, rugs, or their own bed.

I've looked after dogs with all sorts of personality, from energetic who need plenty of exercise to chiller and older dogs with slower pace. I'm happy to stick to their routines (feeding, walking, sleeping) so they feel as comfortable as possible while they are away from you.

NB. I love cats but I'm allergic to them, so if you have a cat, I'm sorry but I can't stay in your house for too long. (Home visits are fine)

If your dog is staying in our house, they will just need to be a small to medium dog (30kg female max), gentle breed and used to small kids!
