We are a friendly, animal-loving family based in Oteha, Albany, offering professional, reliable and compassionate pet care across the North Shore. I’m Nicky, an experienced veterinary nurse with over 20 years of experience working with animals, including emergency and critical care veterinary hospitals in both South Africa and New Zealand. PAWBAY is a family-run pet care service, and I’m fortunate to have my two daughters, Michaela and Abigail, helping me care for our furry clients. Together, we share a genuine love for animals and believe every pet deserves patience, affection, individual attention and the same care we would give our own pets. Having my daughters involved means we can work together to provide loving attention, playtime, companionship and support with everyday pet care. 🩺 Specialised Veterinary Nursing Care One of the things that makes PAWBAY special is my extensive veterinary nursing background. We understand that some pets need more than feeding, walking and cuddles, particularly those who are elderly, recovering from surgery or living with medical conditions. Our specialised services include: Diabetic pets: Prescribed insulin injections and wellbeing monitoring. Medication administration: Tablets, oral liquids and prescribed injections. Post-operative care: Recovery monitoring, wound and incision observations, and following veterinary discharge instructions. Senior pets: Gentle, patient care for pets with age-related or mobility difficulties. Special-needs pets: Individualised attention for animals with ongoing health conditions. Anxious pets: Calm, reassuring care tailored to their personalities and routines. All specialised veterinary nursing care and medical procedures are personally provided by me, Nicky, according to veterinary instructions and within my professional scope. 🐕 Our Pet Care Services Dog Walking We offer 30-minute dog walks, with longer 45- or 60-minute walks available by arrangement. Walks are tailored to your dog’s age, energy levels and individual needs. Home Visits One or two visits daily, each lasting at least 30 minutes, including: Feeding and fresh water Toilet breaks and litter tray cleaning Playtime, cuddles and companionship Medication administration where arranged General wellbeing checks Photo and message updates Overnight House Sitting We provide overnight pet sitting in the comfort of your own home, helping your pets maintain their familiar surroundings and daily routines. Attendance arrangements will be discussed before booking. Pet Transport Transport assistance for veterinary appointments, grooming visits and other pet-related appointments, subject to availability. Post-Operative and Specialised Care Additional support for pets recovering from surgery or requiring medical attention, with care plans discussed individually.
