I’m 21 years old, raised in Christchurch, and I’ve grown up around animals my entire life. Caring for pets has always been second nature to me, and I offer dog walking, home visits, and in-home pet care to help keep your pets happy, safe, and comfortable while you’re away.

I have years of hands-on experience with animals of many breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve previously walked dogs, including my own family dogs and other people’s pets, I always tailor walks to suit each dog’s energy level, behaviour, and routine. I use secure leads and harnesses, avoid unsafe areas when needed, and stay alert to surroundings at all times to ensure every walk is calm, controlled, and enjoyable.

I’m comfortable caring for pets with special needs, including senior pets, shy or anxious animals, and pets that require extra patience or specific routines. I understand the importance of following detailed care instructions closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, medication timing, mobility support, or behavioural boundaries. I take things at the pet’s pace and focus on creating a calm, reassuring environment.

Safety is always a top priority during visits and house sitting. I double-check doors, gates, and enclosures, keep food and hazards out of reach, and maintain clean, tidy spaces for pets. In the event of an emergency, I remain calm, assess the situation, and contact you immediately. I’m happy to follow any emergency plan you provide and can contact your preferred vet if needed. I believe clear communication is key, so you’ll never be left wondering how your pet is doing.

I’ve also cared for smaller animals such as rabbits and rats, regularly looking after my auntie’s pets with feeding, cleaning enclosures, gentle handling, and enrichment. Helping care for family farm animals — including goats, horses, and pigs — has given me valuable experience with responsibility, safety awareness, and routine-based care. While I don’t have formal certifications, my experience has taught me strong animal handling skills, confidence, and attentiveness.
