About me 🐾 Hi, I'm Mark! I'm a friendly, reliable and down-to-earth guy based in Christchurch who genuinely loves animals and enjoys helping others. I'm a dog owner myself, with my lovely girl Lola, and animals have always been a big part of my life. We regularly have neighbourhood cats popping over for cuddles and visits, and I also help look after some of our local community chickens! I have experience with pet sitting and house sitting, and I'm lucky to have two regular yearly clients who trust me to look after their homes and pets while they're away. I understand that every pet is different, with their own personalities, routines and little quirks. My approach is to get to know your pet, make them feel comfortable and follow their usual routine as closely as possible. Dog walking 🐕 I offer walks generally between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on your dog's age, energy levels and needs. Longer walks can also be arranged by discussion. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely neighbourhood stroll or exploring local parks, I'll make sure they have an enjoyable and safe outing. Home visits & pet care 🐾 Home visits are generally between 30 minutes and one hour. During this time, I can help with feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, playtime, cuddles and companionship. If your pet enjoys walks, we can incorporate a walk into the visit too. I'm also happy to take care of the clean-up duties, including picking up after dogs, cleaning up pet messes and keeping litter trays and litter areas clean and tidy. Medication & special care I'm comfortable administering medication with your consent and clear instructions. I understand that some pets have additional needs, and I'm happy to discuss their individual care requirements beforehand. A little extra help I'm lucky to have my partner Wes, who's generally home during the day. While I'm the main person providing the pet care, Wes can be an added pair of hands when needed. If your pets aren't comfortable being left alone while I'm at work, Wes may be available to provide company and help care for them during those hours. This gives us some extra flexibility for pets who need more regular companionship or attention. We'll always discuss and agree on arrangements beforehand. Boarding & home environment 🏡 We have a fully fenced, pet-friendly home, and I prefer animals to be inside with us at night so they can feel comfortable and part of the household. Any boarding arrangements, routines, feeding schedules, sleeping preferences and individual requirements can be discussed beforehand to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. Your pet's comfort comes first ❤️ I'm more than happy to follow your usual routines, walking preferences and specific instructions to help keep your pets happy, settled and comfortable. I'll also keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can see how your pets are getting on while you're away. I'm respectful of other people's homes and take pride in being responsible, reliable and treating every home as if it were my own.
