Hi, I'm Sophie!
I am a full-time hospitality worker, full-time animal lover and part-time pet sitter based in St Albans, Christchurch. My work schedule changes week to week but I use any and all spare time to care for animals - it keeps me active and brings me job outside of the hospo hustle.

🐾 About Me

I’ve always had a passion for animals and love being around them. I’m calm, caring, and reliable — and I truly enjoy building trust with both pets and their owners. Whether it’s a casual walk, pop-in visit, or overnight stay, I bring positive energy and plenty of love to every booking.
I'm a University of Canterbury graduate and currently work full-time in hospitality right in the heart of the city. With a schedule that changes week to week (and sometimes hour to hour!), pet sitting gives me a meaningful way to stay active and de-stress — while helping others do the same.

🐾 A little about me & my animal experience:

I've volunteered at a cat rescue for several years and have experience with cats of all personalities, from shy to spicey. I’m confident administering oral and eye medications when needed, and I’ve also been a foster mum to both kittens and cats — making sure they’re happy, healthy, and ready for their forever homes.

I’ve cared for a wide variety of dogs too, from energetic pups to more nervous personalities. I’m super active, patient, and always aim to give each animal the time and attention they need to feel safe and loved.

Whether it's dog walking, cat cuddles, or overnight care, I bring experience, flexibility, and a genuine love for animals to every visit.

Joining Pawshake was a no-brainer for me — it gives me a much-needed break from the fast pace of hospo life and lets me do something I truly enjoy.
