I am a big animal lover, and I especially love dogs. I enjoy cuddles, adore watching dogs play, and above all I love making sure dogs have a relaxed, happy time. My care prioritises emotional wellbeing and my training ethos is reward-based: creating positive associations with the behaviours we want more of. I have a wonderful little dog-child called Sir Teddington (Teddy) who absolutely loves dogs too. He's very gentle and is confident with big dogs as well as small ones. He often has good reactions from nervous dogs, to the surprise of their owners. When I first got him as a tiny puppy he was afraid of other dogs. My care, alongside his good nature, has grown his confidence and he is now super courageous and enjoys other dogs company so much. I work mostly from home, making me available to give your animal love and attention during the daytime. Your animal is welcome at my house, or Teddy and I could come to your house if that would be more appropriate. Because my partner is usually at home as well, usually your animal will have company for the entire time they are with us. On the rare occasion that we need to leave them home alone, it would be for less than 3 hours. If your dog has trouble being alone please let me know. We could make a plan together to practice leaving them alone for very short periods of time. As their comfort with being alone increases we could extend the time they are left alone. I want to help if I can. I'm happy to do some light training and to reinforce behaviours you would like practiced. My partner would also help out with walks and play. For walks, we would take your dog out at the cooler times of day (in the morning or evening). If your dog has reasonable recall, our walks would include a decent period of time in our local off-leash park where they can play with other dogs or we can play fetch with them. We can also practice recall. Important things to be aware of: If you have a female dog on heat, it would not be appropriate for me to care for them (because my dog is not yet desexed). He’s fine with females who aren’t on heat though (he’s more into boys 😊). If your dog is an escape artist, my home will not be suitable. My yard is fully fenced but some of the fence is a little shorter than the rest! I'd love for Teddy and I to meet your dog before we look after them. Meeting us first is important for making sure they feel safe and relaxed when they are left alone with us for the first time. We're looking forward to meeting you both!
