Hi! I'm Mariana, a reliable and caring pet sitter based in Auckland. I've grown up with pets, so I know they're family and deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away.

Over the years, I've looked after my own pets and helped care for family pets, so I'm used to feeding them, refreshing water, cleaning up after them, taking them for walks, playing with them, and making sure they get plenty of attention. I know every pet is different, and I always take the time to understand their routine and personality.

I have experience caring for pets with different personalities and needs. I understand that some animals can be nervous when meeting someone new or when their owners are away. In these situations, I give them time to adjust, avoid overwhelming them, and let them approach me at their own pace. I use a calm voice, patience, and positive interactions to help them feel comfortable.

When going on walks, I always prioritise safety. I make sure collars and harnesses are secure before leaving, choose safe walking routes, pay attention to the surroundings, and adjust the pace depending on the dog's energy, age, and comfort level. I never force a pet into situations that make them uncomfortable.

If something unexpected happens, I stay calm and act quickly. For example, if a pet became unwell during a visit or walk, I would make sure they are safe, contact the owner immediately, follow their instructions, and seek veterinary help if needed. 

One example of my experience caring for pets was when my cat had surgery and needed extra care during her recovery. After the procedure, she was very tired and dizzy, so I helped her move around the house safely and made sure she had a comfortable and quiet space to rest. I carefully followed the medication instructions, monitored her behaviour, and paid attention to her food, water, and overall comfort. By being patient and consistent with her care, she recovered very well and was feeling better sooner than expected. This experience taught me how important it is to be observant, gentle, and responsible when looking after an animal, especially when they are vulnerable or need extra support. 

I am organised and careful when managing multiple bookings. I plan my time to make sure I have enough space between visits and walks, so every pet receives my full attention and I am not rushing from one booking to another. I can provide regular updates and photos, so owners can feel reassured while they are away.

Dog walks: 30–60 minutes, depending on your dog's age, energy level, and your preferences.

Home visits: I'll feed your pet, refresh their water, clean litter trays or pick up after them, spend quality time playing or cuddling, and make sure they feel comfortable before I leave.

I usually care for up to two pets from the same household at a time, so each one gets plenty of attention. I'm mainly available after school, on weekends, and during school holidays.
