🐾 Experienced Pet Sitter in South Auckland – From Cats & Dogs to Pocket Pets!

Hi there, my name is Paula! I am a massive animal lover living in South Auckland. I would love to look after your pets. I grew up surrounded by animals, I currently own long haired cats, that require a lot of grooming and am a former dog owner, my lovely German Shepherd dog passed away a couple of months before her 14th Birthday.

Whether your pet is large or small, have scales or feathers, young or old—they will be treated like family in my care.

• I have experienced with all pets: I have personally owned or fostered cats, dogs, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, budgies, cockatiels, axolotls, hedgehogs, chickens, and both cold/warm water fish, I also work as a casual animal handler for a well known pet travel company and have experience with anxious pets big and small.
• Specialist Canine Experience: I have successfully trained and shown three German Shepherd Dogs and have practical experience with agility training. I am highly confident reinforcing your house rules and obedience commands and helping out with training.
• Medical & Post-Op Care: I am fully confident administering medication. Cleaning ears, cutting nails etc. If your pet needs strict recovery supervision after being desexed or dealing with an injury, I have large crates and specialised cages to keep them safe and contained.
• Sole-Charge Safe Office: If your pet needs 24/7 continuous supervision, they won't be left alone! I work in a secure, sole-charge office environment where the front door is always locked. I can easily set up a crate or cage at my workplace to keep them right by my side or free roam my office with a secure playpen set up for quiet time.

Services I Offer

• Home Visits & Drop-ins: I will feed, play, refresh water, and clean up litter boxes. I am also happy to attend to complex cage cleanouts (birds, rodents, fish, etc.), groom long-haired breeds, bathe them, wash all pet bowls, and pet bedding if required and water your plants. I can bring in your mail, put your rubbish bins out and bring them back in. I can also do a food shop for your pets and a basic supply shop for you to replenish milk and bread if required.
• Dog & Cat Walking: I will keep your pets active and entertained. I live close to a dog park and walking distance to a beach. At work we have a reserve near by, if you dog comes to work with me, we can have a nice walk and comfort stops. For the cats I own several sized Catventure cat harnesses, if your cat likes to walk on a lead, they can explore my backyard with me or go for a walk in my pet pram.
• Extended Cat Boarding: I have a secure outdoor catio at my home, perfect if you are heading away for more than a few days. (My cats are up to date on flea and worming treatments and are very laid back)
• Premium Treats: I live and work just down the road from Raw Essentials. If your pet is allowed, a trip to the store for a high-quality, healthy treat is always on the cards!

Availability & Bookings

• Available weekends, during and after work hours, and statutory public holidays. Working in a sole charge office, I can have your dog or cat at work with me in a safe, and secure environment, we can discuss that in detail when we meet.
• Available for home visits.
• I take a two-week break over Christmas, offering great availability for your summer holiday sit needs, and stay home over long weekends so usually free if other sitters fall through.
