I volunteer many hours a week for a registered charity which improves welfare outcomes for community / stray cats. I have been a 'cat guardian' all my life. I currently share my home with two permanent cats, Mary Peach and Esme, and sometimes extra cats - recovering from veterinary procedures or waiting for adoption. I was friend and guardian to a gorgeous dog for more than 12 years - he had a few fairly intractable behavioral issues but I loved him greatly nonetheless. I would like to become a pet sitter because this seems like a great way to use my passion for all animals and considerable experience with cats (and some with dogs) to earn a little pocket money. 

I live in Mount Eden, am married with 3 adult kids (one living at home at the moment). I'm recently retired, from a 2 phase working life which included environmental management and early childhood education. In addition to cat welfare work I enjoy camping, travelling, reading, animal advocacy, and coffee with friends.
