It is a privilege to share our lives with other creatures and treat them with the respect that we ourselves would like to be treated. They also need clear boundaries and consistency e.g. feeding and walking at same time each day. My first pet was a Burmese Cat , Suki. Since then it has always been dogs. My last darling doglet, Sequoia, died October 2025 age 17. She was completely blind for the last 5 years of her life but still lived it to the full loving the beach in particular Adore birds and horses too but so far in my experience with Kiwi Housitters i have only dealt with dogs and chickens. Have had four 5-Star reviews so owners were very satisfied with my work. The maintenance of owner' homes is something i take seriously making sure that kitchen and bathroom surfaces are clean at all times and environment well-ventilated. I am also very focused on security as i live alone now my daughter have grown up. For this reason i would prefer not to pet-sit in an isolated area e.g. a farm It would be fine to look after small dogs in my own home; still have a ramp purpose built for my previous dog to access my bed. My apartment is not suitable for large dogs. Happiest out of doors so enjoy walking twice a day and swimming most days in Summer. As a retired teacher i would only be leaving pets alone while shopping or attending appointments which could entail 1-3 hours.
