My name is Edwina, 

I completed a Certificate in Animal Management-General Training at Unitec in 2014.

I completed 80 hours work experience at a local cattery as part of work experience for my Unitec course, as well as 80 hours at a dog groomers.

I worked as a dog groomer from 2014-2023.
I learnt first hand how to work with dogs and how to read their body language to ensure that they're comfortable and happy, and over the years have developed an affinity with dogs. I enjoyed working as a dog groomer; seeing such a range of diffferent dogs and establishing a connection with them all.

In 2015 and 2016 I completed Pet First Aid courses.

I began working part time at a dog daycare in 2019 where I continue to work and also really enjoy. 

Around 2023 I began reducing my hours dog grooming due to an injury, and began petsitting and dog walking for clients from the dog daycare I work at. I then signed up to Pawshake and have been able to meet and look after many more beautiful dogs around Auckland. I took a two year break from 2023-2025 where I lived and worked overseas, but now I'm back in Auckland.

I grew up with dogs (Dachshund, Staffie cross Lab, Tibetan Spaniel cross and Maltese cross) and one rescue cat, and my cousins who I grew up with had two cats and a Fox Terrier called Scruffy for almost 19 years! The last of my childhood dogs, Coco and Fluffy, sadly passed away in 2022 and 2024 and I miss them greatly, they reached 16 & 17.

I provide housesitting services where I can stay with your pet at your place for the duration of your holiday. This allows them to have company and be well cared for while still having the familiarity and comfort of their own home, routine and surroundings.

I offer two different options: 24hr care where I stay full time with your dog/cat, or if your dog/cat is comfortable with their own company for a few hours I'll go out each evening to deliver for UberEats then return to stay with them until the next evening. So please do let me know which option is best for your dog/cat and I am happy to adapt my routine for them. For example dogs who have separation anxiety benefit from me being able to stay with them at all times, as well as puppies or dogs who are new to the experience of petsitting.

I always keep the house very clean and tidy and am extra careful with the front door/gates for their safety. I will take your dog on walks during the day as agreed or exercise them in the garden if preferred. I am more than happy to tailor a plan to best suit your pet,
