Ever since I can remember, animals have been an integral part of my life. From dogs and cats to rabbits, I've had the privilege of caring for a wide variety of pets. I understand that each pet is an individual, and I take pride in tailoring my services to cater to their specific requirements.
My motivation as a pet sitter stems from the joy and fulfilment I get from creating a safe and loving environment for pets when their owners are away. I believe that pets are not just companions; they are family members deserving of attention, affection, and reliable care. When I take on the responsibility of pet sitting, I treat each pet as if they were my own, ensuring they are comfortable, happy, and well-cared for.
My services encompass a wide range of offerings, including daily visits, overnight stays, dog walking, feeding.


My name is Natasha and I am 34 years old.&nbsp;&nbsp;
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Organic Chemistry and have completed Doctoral research to identify ways to improve the fertility of endangered species using computational biology techniques. I am currently working on tracking environmental pathogens.
I am available for dog walking in Eastbourne, Oriental Bay/Mount Victoria/Roseneath as well as pet sitting at your house in the same areas as well as Lyall bay and Khandallah.

Dog walking: &nbsp;
I am of excellent fitness and would love to take your dog on regular runs around the nearby bush tracks, beaches, and parks. Each walk/run is for 1 hour minimum, and will generally be longer. I am happy to come and meet you and your dog beforehand. Please note that I am based in Eastbourne and would prefer to walk local dogs.
Pet sitting: &nbsp;
I have looked after pets in people's homes in Canada, Australia and New Zealand for a period ranging from 1 week to 3 months. My priority is to keep your pup happy and mentally stimulated. I will ensure I interact and play with your dog throughout the day and take them on a 1 hour walk (minimum) each day. I often go on longer bush walks and trips to the beach. I am very respectful of the homes I stay in and ensure they are immaculate for owners to come home to. I am happy to also water gardens, mow lawns and anything else that may be required. &nbsp;
I send photo/video updates each day so you can feel at ease with knowing that your pooch is happy and in safe hands. &nbsp;
Dog boarding:
I live in a beachfront house in Eastbourne near a dog friendly park and the butterfly creek walking track so it is very accessible for swims and walks. My home has a large front and back yard (fully fenced and with trees for shade). I work from home so I can provide all day supervision and companionship in between walks/exercise.
I am only able to offer this service for dogs that I have looked after before (either walks or pet sitting in your home). 
Please note: 
Please ensure that your dog is freshly bathed (with dog shampoo) and is up-to-date with worm and flea treatments. Likewise, if your dog gets muddy/dirty while in my care, I will bathe them :) &nbsp;
Please also let me know if your dog has any behavioural problems before our meet and greet.

About me
Hello! I am a 25 year old female full-time Designer living in Mt Victoira, Wellington. I live with three other full-time workers who all come from family's with dogs and cats. I grew up in the Hawks Bay with two boxer dogs and have had multiple cats. I have very happy memories of running around the garden as a kid with my brother, playing with the garden hose and our two dogs Hargen and Rorman. I was lucky to grow up with pets, this instilled my love for animals. During my years as a student, I gained a lot of experience in dog sitting, house sitting, and boarding as I have looked after family friends and neighbours' dogs.
Since leaving home and living independently, my flatmates and I cannot commit to owning pets and so I love looking after other pets especially dogs. I am a very active person and often go for walks/runs around the water front which is a 5 minute walk from my house. This is something I would happily do with any capable dog. The Mt Victoira city belt is also 5 minutes up the road and is a great area to walk dogs. There is lots of winding tracks among the pine trees and big open dog-friendly parks.

Previous experience

  Once a week I would pick Bella (pug dog pictured in profile) up from her home in Mt Victoira and walk her on the lead around Oriental Parade. Bella was well behaved with the bribery of food and loved going to the Charles Plimmer Park (up mt Vic) to play fetch. 



  My boss often goes travelling and so I house sit for him at his family home in Eastbourne as well as take care of his dog Luna (pitball/huntaway dog pictured in profile). Luna is fed once a day and is given oral medication three times a day. She obeys commands very well which means I can walk her off of the lead along the beach and around the trails.



  Both of my flatmates have family dogs who come and stay over when their owners are out of town. We set their beds up in our lounge or in one of our bedrooms if the dog gets anxious. We live down a quiet side street with a decent backyard and a big warm lounge. 


Services
Walks along the water front can range from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. I pop a podcast on and enjoy the view along the waterfront. If a nature walk is preferred the Mt Victoira town belt is excellent for dogs. As for dogs that live in other suburbs, walking routes can be the local tracks in the area and/or I can drive to other places. 

Availability

  Every Saturday and Sunday day and night 
  I work 9-5 and so I can be fully available outside of these times


Hi there!Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my profile. I am a really big animal lover. It primarily comes from my compassionate, caring, empathetic nature. I make regular donations to charities like the SPCA and the WWF because I appreciate that animals cannot stand up for themselves and it pains me when I see them being mistreated.When I was living in Auckland studying I had a long haired Chihuahua named Pepi. I absolutely adored him! I can completely understand how people treat their pets like their fur children because I was the same with him. I made the really hard decision to rehome him when I realised that working full-time and studying and not being able to be home with him at least one day a week was affecting him.  It's hard to put your pets into the care of other people and I take the responsibility of Pet Minding really seriously.I decided pet setting would be a great idea because I love animals but while I am saving for my own home I don't feel it is right to have my own pet until I can be secure they will have a home ongoing as my experience with Landlords accepting animals has been mixed.If I sit for you you can expect me to respect your home and leave exactly how you left it. I am also happy to tend the garden if you like and any other bits and pieces you need done around the home. I have been doing some self education online about pet behaviour and training techniques as well. You can expect me to take care of any pets you have to a high standard (I love animals). I understand that a person's home is very much a prized possession.

Dog walking: normally half hour with leash. unleash in dog park or longer walking time can be discussed.

Pet feeding: (half hour)I will can come to you house feed them, change water, play with them, send their photos and videos to you. Collect mail and do some cleaning or garden job can be discussed.

Puppy day care: (6 hours) He will stay in back yard with me and 2 fully trained border collies. Won't let him alone over half hour.

Puppy training: 80 nzd/h. I can come to your place or staying at my house.

Hi! Aimee and George here, we are a 30 year old couple who live at our fully fenced home in Lyall Bay with a big back and front yard. We adopted a retired five year old greyhound in 2023, Peggy, who has been an awesome addition to the household. She's very easy going, loves her daily walks, people and other dogs almost as much as she loves a good snooze. 
George works full time remotely from home, and Aimee is a shift working midwife at Wellington Hospital. Aimee's sister Natalie (28) is a lawyer who lives with George and Aimee and works from home on average 2-3 days a week. It is very rare that one of us is not home, and we'd always ensure there is a plan in place to make sure at least one of us is around to look after your dog. We are very responsible, friendly and willing to take your lead on how you'd like your pet to be cared for. We understand it's a big deal leaving it in someone else's care and we take it seriously.
