For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Lower Hutt for a home day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Lower Hutt Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer home day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Lower Hutt sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

I'm Ali, a passionate animal lover. I grew up on a farm which is how my love for animals grew. I am a proud owner to two dogs, a rescue heading dog by the name of Jen and a border collie called Dakota. I love the active lifestyle and taking them to new places. I offer dog walking long or short. Rain or shine.
I offer pet feeding and dog walks. I am also happy to offer daycare during the day. Just let me know what you're after and I can see what I can do! I am available on the weekends and during the week from 4:30pm. Feel free to send me a message and I can do my best to accommodate to your needs
Not only do I have a passion for dogs but also a love for cats and a range of other animals. I have plenty of experience with birds, rabbits, goats, horses. You name it. Every animal deserves all the love and attention possible, especially when their owners are away. I am generally pretty flexible so anytime of day is great. I always have my phone on me so please don't hesitate to call! if you have any extra jobs that need doing while you're away I am happy to assist. Even if it's watering your plants or bringing in your mail. No job is too small. I can offer basic training or if you have something in particular you would like to progress with I am happy to help. If you're looking for a trustable, passionate, dedicated animal lover to look after your furry friend look no further!

I'm Silke and a professinal, self-employed trainer and consultant, usually living in New Zealand. I'm mostly working from home. My childhood dog was a "Small Munsterlander" called Alf. Unfortunately, I didn't have any dogs afterwards because I left the house and went travelling since. However, I was by my Dad's side who trained and coached dogs. From that time, I have my dog coaching and training skills I soaked up like a sponge when I was a kid.
Because I'm in Europe for longer periods every year since I arrived in Wellington eleven years ago, it would be unresponsible to have my own dog, even though I would love to. Until now, I was always looking forward to seeing my massage lady's Charlie, who's always ecstatic to see me. She says I'm his favourite client. :)
When overseas, I mostly stay in homeexchanges, including cat sitting included in the house-swap. I'm happy to provide references for this. Cat owners regularly say that the cat behaved absolutely as if they hadn't been away, which apparently hadn't happened with other sitters before. One host would only exchange with me because she has a cat with a very severe, unknown past, so the cat only normally trusts family members. She likes to have me around, to the host's own surprise.
Now my friend, who is a dog-sitter, recommended this site. I would like to give some more doggy love and help dog owners by dog-boarding or walking their dog.
My childhood dog was educated as a hunting dog (not for hunting in fact, rather for preventing him to hunt, so he would really "listen" to even sign language from afar), so, as mentioned above, I have heaps of experience with dogs from those times. How they behave, e.g. with runners, etc., so I will be a responsible dog-sitter.
How would dog-caring or -walking look like? I'm happy to walk your dog, and also care for him in my own home when the situation allows. I'm renting two rooms on airbnb, and would only have a dog that is ok with other people, and ask my guests in advance if they are ok in terms of allergies etc. If the dog owner wishes, I would have the dog only when not hosting guests. The dog would be in the lounge area. There is outdoors space, unfortunately not fenced or secured. Alternatively, there is the balcony for a shady day. Due to working from home, I would walk the dog several times druing the day. Other than that, I'm very good at listening to the dog owner and do whatever special treatment is needed for the dog. Small dogs only please.

Hello, thank you for reading my profile. I am a self confessed, and confirmed by all friends and family, dog lover. I grew up with large dogs, first Border Collie, the Lab/Shephard cross, also having two Golden Retrievers of my own. The most recent and cherished, Murphy, died this past Christmas, at 9 years of age.
I am available during the day to check on your dog, feed, play with or take out for a walk.
Am also able to administer medications and care for older dogs with special needs.
I have recently returned to Wellington after 20 years away. Last year I professionally house sat for owners in Auckland, minding their four legged family members, in their home while they were away. I think it is best for the dog to be in their familiar environment.
I'm experienced with a variety of breeds including golden retrievers, Labrador, Jack Russell, Schnauzer, Schnoodle, English Springer Spaniel, American Cocker Spaniel, and more.

Matt and I love dogs!
We would love to open up our home to a family pet in need of a short term place to stay and looking to be well looked after and loved like one of our family.

Our experience is 16 years of looking after a cocker spaniel named Jake. He got walked twice a day and taken on regular adventures. We loved him dearly. We also have regularly looked after our friend's dogs.

We would only take one dog at a time or two from the same family to ensure the best care possible.

We believe in lots of cuddles and outdoor activities for the furry one - if that's what they like.

Our house is right on a few bush walks in karori and close to a dog park which makes that easy for us. We have a caged boot in our car cushioned out for travel, but would most likely walk to most places.
We would follow the routine you have already set as a doggy parent to hopefully help them be as little disrupted as possible.
We also have lots of experience with administering medicines as our dog needed them daily when he got older

Please note. We have a very sweet girl who is gentle and caring when it comes to animals. So any dog we take would have to be ok around kids - although we wouldn't leave either of them unsupervised.

It is a BIG deal leaving your fur baby with someone. So it'll be important for us that we chat to make sure we are the right fit. Feel free to reach out and ask any questions and if you would like an introduction beforehand then that's more than ok with us.
