Whether it’s a playful pup, a curious kitty, or even a sneaky snake – I’ve got you covered. I grew up surrounded by animals and have always had a strong connection with them. I’ve even had the pleasure of working in dog walking roles, which only deepened my love and understanding of pets.

A bit about me:
Caring for animals comes naturally to me. I’m bubbly, compassionate, and down-to-earth, and I see every pet as unique and full of personality. I treat your furry (or scaly!) friends as if they were my own – with lots of love, attention, and respect.

Location &amp; Availability:
I’m based in Glen Innes and work in Kohimarama beach, happy to travel across Auckland if needed. I don’t work on Mondays, so I’m fully available then, and I’m also open for morning and evening check-ins or walks throughout the week.

 Dog Walking: 30–60 minute walks tailored to your dog’s energy levels and needs. I’m also happy to drive them to nearby parks or beaches.
 Home Visits: I’ll stay for as long as needed to ensure your pet feels safe, secure, and comfortable in their home.

Hello my name is Shirene and I have a lovely Westie named Bentley. My baby is 9 old and loves other doggie company. Your doggy will be treated just the same as if they were my own. Rest assured your fur baby will get plenty of cuddles and love while they are with us.
We go for daily walks. We are not far from beaches, parks and have plenty of places to explore.

I am a 42-year-old animal lover who has lived in New Zealand for more than twenty years, and caring for pets has always felt natural to me. I treat pets as family members and enjoy giving them attention, reassurance, and gentle companionship. I have a one-and-a-half-year-old spoodle who has taught me even more about dog behaviour, routine, and emotional needs, and I also look after friends’ dogs occasionally, which has given me experience with different personalities and breed,such as labrador,spoodle,maltipoo and covoodle. I am a mother of three children, aged 17, 15 and 11. I work part time, mostly from home. I have taken on a new role that means I do need to be out and about for a few hours, a few days per week. Your dog would need to be ok with this and safe to leave at home, inside, with my 2 dogs. My husband also works from home quite a bit too, but this is not always guaranteed. We do have a pretty full house of animals already, but always love to welcome more, particularly my youngest who is an absolute animal lover. I recently found a search on her iPad asking "how do I convince my dad to get another cat" because obviously 2 cats and 2 dogs aren't enough for her :) 
Our two golden retrievers are typical of the breed, they love all dogs and people and are constantly asking for attention and affection. They absolutely love having more dogs to play with, and as a household of animal lovers we love that too. We have a fully fenced backyard and front yard that can be separated if needed. We also have a heated swimming pool that the dogs love to use, and plenty of toys for them to play with. 
I am aware that some dogs may need a more quiet space to feel comfortable, so I will be very considerate about their needs if this is the case. We can easily seperate the animals and give them a safe space to relax if your dog is more sensitive, elderly or just needs some quiet time by themselves. Our two are still quite young, so energetic and playful, but also do calm down considerably after the first few minutes, and are very loving towards each other, they are closely bonded and share a deep connection. 
Our dogs are loved members of the family and enjoy the freedom to roam the house, they sleep on the couch, hang out on my bed during the day, spend as much time outside as they wish, or spend their time sleeping in a cosy spot. They generally live their best lives. ￼They love going to the beach, swimming, going for walks, or going to the local park. We also have some amazing bush walks close by, including the new Kauri Glenn board walk which is perfect for a pleasant walk in the shade. I spend most of the day with them, take them out when possible and give them all the love that they most certainly deserve. 
We had a great experience when River was a puppy staying at a pet sitter's house, after he had a bad experience staying at a kennel. I really appreciated the fact that I knew he was safe, happy and cozy in someone else's home rather than in a dog kennel where his gentle golden retriever nature made him feel too anxious. ￼I hope that we can offer that same experience too.

Since separating from my previous partner, I have been missing having a pet.While I can't have one of my own at the moment, I would love to help other families with their fur babies! My house is quite large with a big fenced yard and your pet will be very safe and snowed under with cuddles from me.I also have two young kids every alternative week, so your dog might even get two kids to play with!I do work in the city some days of the week, but I also have lots of flexibility with hours and to work from home. We obviously give your dog a break by keeping them seperate sometimes so the dog gets his peace of mind.

  I’m Alys, a reliable and caring house and pet sitter with experience looking after small furry and feathered friends, dogs, cats and even livestock. I'm great with house admin too and promise not to kill your plants!&nbsp;&nbsp;
️ I live on the sunny North Shore of Auckland with my partner and our two cats Winston &amp; Wally. I work in the city, but can work from home any two days a week.
 Due to this, I tend to mostly book 'long weekend' stays - usually a max stay being Wed PM (after work) through to Tues PM - but occasionally open up for longer stays.
 In my spare time I dabble in pottery at a local studio, am learning Mandarin, and volunteer for two rescues (Fur Paws Sake cat rescue and The Dog Rescue Project) supporting with social media, fundraising and events - and I have fostered more than 40 cats, kittens and dogs over the past 2+ years. This includes some super sick rescues so I have a lot of experience administering medication and supplying special diets etc. It also means I have experience working with dogs who are learning about the world around them and might need a little extra patience - eg. Walks in quieter spaces to avoid reactivity. I previously worked with The Dog Trust in the UK, helping to train their pups.&nbsp;

I’ve found caring for pets to be incredibly rewarding, and I fully understand the responsibility and trust it takes to look after your home and your furry family members. I am highly experienced, having had been a full-time petsitter for the past 3 years, only going on hiatus over the last few months whilst taking care of my puppy (Beans). I have years of experience with animals of all shapes and sizes, having owned and fostered a variety of pets over the years. This means I’m comfortable with everything from energetic dogs to quiet cats, and I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s personality and needs. Although I work full-time during the school term (from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays), I’m committed to providing the best care possible during evenings and weekends.

My only current service is overnight stays with dogs or cats, where I stay in your home to ensure your pet(s) feel comfortable and secure. I handle everything from feeding, walking, and bathroom breaks to administering medication, providing cuddles, and keeping up with any routines your pets are used to. Walks are typically 60 minutes, but I can adjust based on your dog’s specific needs. I also have a dog-friendly car and can provide transportation if required.
I’m more than happy to meet with you beforehand to make sure you’re comfortable and confident about who’s taking care of your home and pets.
