Sometimes life can get really busy and you might find yourself a little short on time to walk your dog. Luckily with Pawshake, it is really easy to connect with thousands of pet lovers and find a walker in Tauranga who is available and waiting to help you out.

All of our walkers are vetted individually and every dog walker booking is covered by The Pawshake Guarantee so you can rest easy while they spend time with your dog. Additionally, your Pawshake walker will be from your local Tauranga neighbourhood and their profile also includes reviews from other pet parents.

Having a dog walker visit during the day is an affordable and great way to break up the day and make your dog’s day more interesting. Some of our walkers walk multiple dogs at once so this service is a great way for your dog to socialise and meet other similar dogs. However, if your dog prefers to be walked alone, you can also find Tauranga dog walkers who only walk one dog at a time. That way, the walks can be completely dedicated to what your dogs want – whether is a slow walk-and-sniff or a faster paced brisk walk around the block, our Pawshake dog walkers will be happy to oblige.

Hi! My name is Mariana, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with several years of experience caring for pets. I volunteered at a dog shelter for a decade and have been a foster home for more than 30 animals — including both dogs and cats, from newborns to seniors — providing them with love, medical care, and support until their adoption, or because they required special care and close attention.
I offer pet sitting in the pet’s own home, where they feel most safe and comfortable. I have experience with animals who require special attention, including administering medication and caring for those with health conditions. Whether it’s going for long walks, playing, feeding, or simply giving cuddles and companionship, I’ll make sure your pet feels loved and well looked after while you’re away.
My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from the deep joy and connection animals bring into our lives. I’ve also been vegetarian for over 10 years. I will always do my best to accommodate their specific needs.
I offer:Dog walking: they’re usually 30–60 minutes long, depending on your pet’s energy and needs. I like to explore safe and fun areas like nearby parks and quiet streets to make sure your dog enjoys their time outside. Home visits: I usually stay for at least 30–60 minutes, but I’m flexible and can stay as long as you need. I’ll feed your pets, give them fresh water, play with them, clean up if needed, and I can water plants or bring in the mail if you like.
House sitting: I can stay overnight or for as long as you need, depending on your trip and your pet’s routine. I’ll keep the home secure by locking up carefully and making sure everything stays safe and tidy.
I’ll be happy to keep you updated with photos and videos so you can see how your pet is doing.

Hello! My name is Lara, and I’m excited to offer a safe and loving environment for your furry friends.
I currently have shared custody of a miniature schnauzer, Charli. When Charli stays with my ex-partner, I really miss having her around, which is why I’d love to open my home to help care for other animals during those weeks.
At home, I have a friendly shorthair cat named Pebbles (who makes herself scarce when Charli or other dogs are here). And three chickens with their own fully enclosed space. Our yard is securely fenced, offering a safe and fun area for dogs to play.
I take daily walks through the local dog park and would love to have a canine companion join me. Since I work from home, your pet will never feel lonely and will receive plenty of attention and care.
Over the years, I’ve cared for a variety of animals, including:

    Small to medium dogs

    Rabbits

    Mice

    A goat

    Hens

Services

    Regular or casual care

    Sitting

    Walking

    In-house minding

For health reasons, I can only accept dogs with low-shedding, allergy-friendly coats.

Hey I'm Vicki. I'm a Mum to 2 children & 2 pets, a cavoodle puppy (Winnie named after Winnie the Pooh) and our 10 year old cat (Kobe named after Kobe Bryant).
I have my own house cleaning business and hanging out with my clients pets is the best part of my job.
I absolutely love animals, in the past I have owned a rabbit, Guinea pigs, cats and now a puppy. I studied an Animal Care course at Polytech and worked in a dog kennel & cattery when I was in high school.
I am reliable, caring and treat every pet as if they were my own. I can follow instructions clearly and will do my best to meet your pets need.
I understand the importance of having the right person looking after your pet while on holiday and I can assure you that your pet will be happy with me

Hi, I'm Laura, a British girl living in the beautiful Mount.
I have always been a dog- lover, and this love was heightened by my darling Bailey, a golden labradoodle. We had Bailey for 10 years and he was my angel. Bailey taught me so much about caring for dogs - the importance of a good walk, lots of good ball throws and always stopping to sniff all the good smells on walk. Since losing Bailey there has always been a dog shaped hole in my heart, a walk just isn't the same without a fury companion.
I like to keep myself active, always going for walks and I would love some four- legged company (any age, shape or size).
Alongside walks, I am available to drop by your home and keep your beloved fur baby company for a while.
I am available evenings, and all day every Friday. I can also do most weekends.
I'm very flexible - I understand that plans can change last minute.

An introduction to me:
I grew up in South Africa surrounded by pets. My friends often referred to our home as a farm. We averaged around 6 dogs and 6 cats at any given time throughout my childhood. We have had a Ridgeback, Great Dane, Shorkie, Basset Hound, Swiss Sheppard, German Sheppard as well as a Shiba Inu and other crossbreeds over the years. My pets always sleep on the bed with me and often sit on the couch with me too. We always played fetch with our dogs in the garden, as well as the odd wrestle now and then. They loved being taken on walks to the beach and playing in the waves.
I love cats just as much (although that love may not be reciprocated, lol). I learned to understand the temperament of a cat and to respect their need to choose you, and that they cannot be told when to be loving and affectionate. Cats seem to enjoy my laid-back personality and eventually come for a cuddle. I have loved the characters we had over the years.
My experience:
I have house-sat and looked after pets in South Africa and Northern Ireland. In South Africa, I house-sat for a week, where I looked after 2 Ridgebacks (and broke up a fight between them- not fun!), as well as 2 cats in that house too. I have looked after another South African family's house and dogs for a week, where I looked after a Border Collie, Belgian Malinois, Kelpie, Collie x Kelpie and Jack Russell.
In Northern Ireland, I house-sat and looked after French Bulldogs on numerous occasions.
Should you be interested in my services, please feel free to reach out. I am happy to arrange a meetup your furry friends to see if your pets are comfortable with me. I can also provide references for all of my experience listed above, should it bring you more comfort.

Hello, I love animals and I have experience dog sitting for different types of breeds. I am an active person that enjoys the gym, playing different sports and being outdoors. I have always enjoyed nature, I have a Biology degree, and all sorts of animals (fish, cats, birds, you name it). Because of my active nature, I enjoy taking the pets out for walks in the beach or dog friendly areas.
I have been doing pet sitting for friends on a casual basis. As of 2025 I became a proud dog dad to Gizmo, a little rescue and most of my time is spent with him. I have experience staying with a pet for a weekend or a month, flexible with time.
Always keen to accommodate for special needs for diverse animals.
If you have any specific questions please reach out. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

Hello! My name is Ella, and I am thrilled at the opportunity to care for your beloved companion. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and I have a genuine, deep-seated passion for providing them with the highest level of care, comfort, and companionship. I understand that your pet is a cherished member of your family, and my primary motivation for pet sitting is the joy I find in building new friendships with animals and ensuring they feel happy and secure while you are away.
I believe that many pets are most comfortable and less stressed when they can stay in their own familiar environment. I am more than happy to come to your home to provide the dedicated care your pet needs. Whether it’s maintaining their regular feeding and walk schedule, engaging in fun playtime, or simply providing some friendly company, I am fully committed to ensuring your pet feels well-loved and well-looked-after while you are out of town.
I own a staffy cross huntaway and I love taking care of her and keeping her entertained! I used to walk dogs when I was younger and have a firm voice good for calling dogs back!
I can walk your dog anywhere from 30mins to 2 hours! I am happy to send updates during the day or if it is an overnight stay I am happy to give regular updates. I am also confident feeding and caring for many animals and helping them stay calm whilst they are anxious. I can calm most energetic animals and also help the not so energetic ones feel calm and happy! In emergency situations I will always make contact with the owner as well as do everything I physically can to help the animal in need! I am comfortable with all dog and cat breeds! And have experience with majority of breeds!

I am Sarai I have just moved to the mount and would love to take your little bff for walks to the beach parks and look after them. I am a very loving responsible active person who grew up around lots of pets since I was a baby and have had lots of furry friends ever since! I lived in papamoa beach for a bit where I looked after our flat dog khaleesi through her surgeries and before and after she got better and we were allowed to run around and go to cafes for treats!
I have lots of experience taking care of my dogs / cats as well as friends safely bringing them home from fun beach walks and I'm looking to get more experience as I'm wanting to go back to New York and do dog walking there as well!

I loved moving to the mount (near the ocean and next to the park) and have decided to stay here for a little longer and get to know the area better and would love to meet you and help you out with your pets in the meantime!
I do live right next to the park so if you leave your little friend with me we will have a lot of fun playing in the park as there's usually other friends that come play there! We have a fully fenced backyard where we will be safe and able to play also :)

Hi, I’m Jhone!
I’ve always loved animals and have gained valuable experience training my own dogs with the guidance of professional trainers. This hands-on experience has taught me how to handle different behaviours, understand their needs, and provide positive, enriching care for pets.
I’m also deeply committed to animal welfare. I’ve volunteered regularly at the SPCA and local animal shelters, helping care for animals in need. Additionally, I donate food and handmade pet beds I’ve created from repurposed fabrics, combining my love for animals with sustainability.
For your pets, I offer more than just care—I ensure they feel safe, loved, and happy. Dogs will enjoy engaging and stimulating walks tailored to their energy levels and personality, while also benefiting from reinforced good behaviour. My goal is to keep your pet physically active, mentally stimulated, and emotionally secure.
As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your furry family. I have a flexible schedule, allowing me to accommodate your needs, whether it’s daily walks, one-off visits, or last-minute bookings. I’ll keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.
Let me help make life easier for you and happier for your pets—let’s work together to ensure they thrive!

Kia ora animal lovers, I'm Anika, I'm 24 and I work full-time in Wellington CBD. The furry friend in my photo is my brother Zeus, he's a 12 year old Maltese. Our family is big on spending time outside, we love the occasional treat and daily walks are a must to have a productive day.
I grew up around dogs, and a cat. Since moving down to wellington, I have missed having a buddy join me on my walks. My previous experience is with my family dogs which range from small to medium sized dogs, but have dog sat casually for friends with larger dogs in the past. At this stage, my services include dog walking and home visits. I won't be house-sitting or dog-sitting, at my home or yours.
While visiting your home, I take great care in making sure I lock up and leave everything as you left it. I am happy to bring in mail or water your plants if needed. I will take your dog(s) out for a walk and then spend some time playing with them at home. I estimate this taking an hour but am fllexible to reduce or extend this time if required.
Ideally, I like to walk in a dog friendly park if there is one close by, alternatively I would take them for a walk around the neighbourhood. If your dog travels well in a car and you're okay with it, I'm happy to drive them to a park if it's slightly too far out from where you live. I know there are some small dog friendly parks near Karori, Wadestown, and Crofton Downs.
I have experience and am comfortable administering oral medications to small - medium sized dogs. The black poodle cross in my profile had seizures and required two medications taken orally every couple hours. I have also had experience looking after him through and post seizures.
I am usually available in the afternoon and evenings on a weekday, but am free all day on weekends.
If you're based anywhere around Wellington's north-west or central suburbs I am happy to come meet you.
