My name is Matt, a 37 year old traveller from Canada! I've been solo travelling New Zealand hiking, camping and climbing some of the most spectacular places I've ever seen! I've had the pleasure of growing up with dogs my whole life. My first dog when I was 3 years old, a West highland terrier. Before these apps ever existed I would walk and house sit for neighbours, family and friends a wide variety of breeds, from havanese, black/golden labs, golden retrievers, labradoodles, German shepards, boxers, whippets, German short haired pointers and weimaraners. I'm experienced with short walks (10min) all the way up to long walks (2hrs) including with multiple dogs at once.&nbsp;
I enjoy an active life and would love to have some furry friends join me on a walk or run. As a solo traveller, I definitely wouldn't be opposed to curling up on the couch to enjoy some pets and scratches!&nbsp;
I feel very confident and comfortable with dog behaviour and body language and believe I have the experience with a large variety of breeds to handle most any opportunity!

Animals have always been a part of my life. Growing up, my home was a lively menagerie, with cats, birds, rabbits, and fish. This lifetime of experience means I understand the unique needs and personalities of many different types of pets.
I'm currently the proud owner of a 4-year-old cat who started life as a shy feral and is now the most spoiled, pampered house cat you'll ever meet—a true testament to my patience and love! I'm also a 'live-in' dog aunty to my flatmate's energetic 1-year-old Shih Tzu, so I'm well-versed in the delightful chaos and routines that come with a young, loving pup.
My pet-sitting experience goes beyond just casual care. I've frequently looked after the beloved companions of friends and family, and I'm well-versed in caring for pets with higher needs. This includes administering medication and maintaining strict schedules to ensure your furry, feathered, or scaled friend remains happy and healthy while you're away.
My Availability
I work a 9-to-5 job in the tertiary education sector during the week. Therefore, my typical availability is:
Weekdays: After 6:00 PM
Weekends: All day

I’m a proud dog mum to Frankie, my 1 year old French Bulldog, and I work in marketing for the pet industry, so I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by all things pets. 
When I’m not working, I dedicate a lot of my time to volunteering with dog rescues and helping pups in need!
I have a fully fenced yard and a spacious, undercover deck for those wet winter days, so your pup will have plenty of room to run and relax. Frankie's paddling pool &amp; swing ball are also in the yard for pups to play with!
I’m available for daycare and home visits on Wednesdays and Fridays, but feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a weekend stay for your pup! I’m happy to accommodate whenever I can.
I look forward to meeting your dog and providing them with a fun, safe, and loving environment during their stay!

I am an animal lover by nature and feel happiest when I am in the company of animals. I have pet/housesat previously for two families, a total of three dogs and a cat, and have also fostered two kittens on behalf of the SPCA. I have administered oral medications. Other services include dog walking, check ups in the evenings during weekdays, anytime on weekends, grooming/brushing, walks and generally keeping them company. I am an open communicator and will ensure you get regular updates. I am more than happy to come to their home and spend time with them while you are away or if they need a bit more company!
I leave early for work in the morning but can be flexible in the evenings and weekends. I work from home two days a week (usually Wednesday and Thursday), so any locations close by I can visit during lunchtimes. Flexible anytime on weekends.
