Kia ora, I’m Vicky and I’m based in Rotorua, working during the week as a registered social worker in primary mental health.

I’m a genuine animal lover and have owned dogs for most of my life. While I no longer have my own dog, I share my home with Kate, our much-loved “queen of the house” cat. Pet sitting allows me to continue spending time with animals and keeps me active. 

I come from a farming background and am confident caring for a wide range of animals, including horses (I’m a competent rider) and other farm animals. I also have over 10 years of experience dog sitting for friends and family, often for extended periods. Most recently, I cared for a large,, quiet and cuddly dog, in my home for six weeks while his family was overseas, along with shorter-term care for other dogs of different breeds and personalities.

I enjoy an active, outdoors lifestyle and love taking dogs for walks or runs, whether that’s around the local racecourse, urban areas, or out at the Redwood Dog Park. Ensuring dogs are exercised in all weather is important to me, along with providing animals with plenty of attention and affection.

My home is fully fenced with secure, high fencing and includes an outdoor kennel if needed. I offer a range of services including dog walking, home visits, overnight stays in your home, and in-my-home care for suitable dogs. 

I am also known for being available at short notice for sudden family emergencies or trips.

I have a reliable, animal-loving teenager at home, and animals are treated as part of the family.
