I am a Fear-Free Certified veterinary professional from Toronto, Canada and I just arrived in the New Plymouth area on a 2-year working holiday visa.

I've been a veterinary customer service representative for 11 years and even had my own dog walking/pet sitting business back home! I have experience working with fearful, reactive, and anxious dogs, as well as dogs with separation anxiety (Please see screenshots of my reviews on Rover, a service similar to Pawshake in Canada 🙂)

I am fluent in canine body language. I know how to match the playful energy of a puppy or how to make a nervous senior feel secure and comfortable. I can pick up on the subtle signs that your pup may be stressed or anxious and modify my behaviour accordingly.

Caring for dogs is in my blood. It's been a major part of my life since the age of 8 and, as you can tell. I've built my professional and personal life around caring for them.

My soul dog, Bo, crossed the rainbow bridge in June 2025. We went everywhere together, even work.She inspired me to leave my career in media so that I could learn how to ensure she had the healthiest, fullest, longest life possible, while also helping other pet parents to learn the same.

Cancer cut our time together short after 11 years, but it has been therapeutic for me to channel all of the love I still have for her into other pups.
