Hello, I’m Nicole. I’m originally from Germany and lived in Tasmania for almost ten years before moving to Christchurch, where I’m now based in Governors Bay. I have a lot of hands-on pet care experience through housesitting. When I first moved to Tasmania, I housesat continuously for around three years while studying, often looking after both homes and animals and sometimes returning to the same owners again. In 2019, while based in Launceston for four months, I also did regular pet-care visits. This included visiting and caring for a cockatiel, cats, chickens and taking a number of different dogs out for walks. Over the years I’ve cared for cats, birds, chickens and many different dogs ranging from small breeds to much larger dogs. My landlords in Tasmania were also wildlife carers, and I sometimes helped them care for injured rescue birds, which gave me some additional experience around animals that needed a quieter, more careful approach. Last April, I also completed a course in telepathic animal communication. It deepened my interest in the connection between people and animals and in paying close attention to each animal as an individual. It also fits very naturally with the quiet, observant way I already tend to relate to and care for animals. I’m comfortable with different personalities and routines and understand that some animals want lots of company and interaction, while others are happiest when someone simply keeps things calm and familiar. I’m quiet, reliable, organised and very respectful of both animals and their homes. I pay attention to routines, feeding instructions, medication or other care instructions, walks, security and all the little things that help pets feel settled while their owners are away. I can offer pet sitting in your home, home visits and dog walking. Home visits can include feeding, fresh water, litter trays or other basic care, play and company, while walks can be adapted to your dog’s normal routine, size and energy level. What matters most to me is that your animals are cared for in a calm, dependable way and that you can go away knowing they are in good hands.
