Hey, I'm Becky! My partner and I moved to NZ from the UK in October 2021, and sadly left the family dogs back in the UK. I've always grown up around dogs- mainly golden retrievers, labradors, spaniels and german shepherds/malinois, so I am very used to very active dogs!
Back at home, my parents and I had a black labrador called Inca (who you can see in pretty much every photo), and she was treated like a queen. My final few weeks of unemployment before we moved over here, rather than seeing friends and family, mostly consisted of taking Inca on day trips (so hopefully she remembers me).
My brother is a dog handler with the UK police and so over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work closely with him training dogs and dog sitting for some quite unruly pooches.
Back home, I would often pet sit for friends and would jump at every opportunity to meet new furry friends :)
I'm currently very much missing being around animals and so would love to be able to look after dogs of any size and nature!
My partner and I currently live in a 3 bedroom house on our own, with a good outside courtyard area. We don't mind dog hair, and have a good hoover. I work full time as a community physiotherapist however can work from home between clients, which means that (if needed), the dog will be left no longer than a few hours on it's own. Dog walking is second nature to me and is my meditation/de-stressor so any dog that I would look after would get daily walks. As we have both turned 30, we now have become 'proper adults' and so are around most evenings, nights, weekends. We are into painting, crafts, hiking, mountain biking, yoga, and generally being outdoors so whether you have an active dog or fairly chilled one, we can work to whatever suits the pooch.
We have no other pets/children and would consider looking after more than 1 dog, providing that the dogs got along and it wasn't stressful for them. If overnight stays are needed, the pets can either bring their own bed or myself and my partner can invest in some pet bedding so that your pet is well rested.
We would also consider staying in the owners house, if this suits the dog and they are more comfortable in their own environment. In terms of fussing the dog, we are happy to be led by owners for this- you know your dogs better than us and so can guide us as to whether you like your dog/s to be fussed/given treats or whether you would prefer less of this and a different approach :)
We both have no criminal convictions and are happy to supply police checks as needed (we have already sorted them to enter NZ).
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Becky has looked after my two dogs a couple of times now with no issues. The dogs are generally high energy so she takes them out for works regularly and keeps them entertained.
I continue to use her so no issues from me!
