Experience/Qualifications: I’m 23, located in St Albans but can travel around chch as needed to meet, walk and care for your furry friends. I have a degree in BSC animal science (welfare, behaviour, training, equine and physiology) and have volunteered at vet clinics for 8-12 weeks at a time over the last 3 years. I’ve also passed 2 rounds of vet selection and their exams so I’ve got the skills and experience handling a wide range of breeds, ages, sizes and behaviours. I don’t live with my own pet due to renting but like spending my free time at my parents’ lifestyle block with their dogs.
About me: I work full time usually 8-5:30pm Monday to Friday but am free outside of these hours and on weekends. I’m here to walk, feed, pat and generally look after your pet/s where and when needed when their parents are away. I understand pets can get nervous or confused when left alone or with strangers so I’m here to make that time as easy as possible for both you and them while you’re away! They are like big hairy kids after all! I grew up on a lifestyle block surrounded with dogs among other animals my whole life and have years experiences with rabbits, sheep, cows, chickens etc also. I’ve even done a few sheep shearing seasons! I want to work with dogs as a profession eventually so walking and caring for your animals would be an absolute dream! Ive always passed all police and drug testing and have never had a problem with an animal whilst in my care and company.
Rates and services info:
Walks are 30-45 minutes depending on what your pooch can handle/your preference.
House/pet sitting hours are approximately 6pm-7am on weekdays to fit in with work and weekends are majority of the day with the exception of other bookings to attend to, personal usual outings etc. This includes feeding, fresh water daily and 1 walk/day (if needed) as well as providing your pooch with top quality company and doggo yarns! I require access to internet during my overnight stays for work.
Pet visits usually take 30 minutes. I feed them, check and refresh their water and anything else they need; toilet and let them have a run around the garden and will provide top quality company and conversation to ensure they’ve had a good day! A second house visit takes 30minutes to repeat the above jobs (if required). Visits do not include a walk - this is a separate service as per Pawshake services outlines so please do not expect this add on.
I send a photo and/or update each day (depending on owner preference) during the service and will leave your house clean and tidy as you left it prior to the service.
Please specify if your animal baby has specific requirements eg. walking away from other dogs, special food, medication, fears around vehicles/cats/other dogs etc.
Any other questions, please feel free to message me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Ellen was Great cleaned up our cats dead mouse that was left inside. she fed the cats as we asked an even watered our garden for us.
Ellen was an excellent dog and house sitter. Both dogs instantly warmed to her and were very happy in her company. She left the house immaculate and we’ve went over and beyond washing the sheets. Would 100% use a Ellen again and recommend
