Hi, I’m Ruby! I absolutely love all animals, especially dogs and cats!

I’ve had hands-on experience looking after dogs for family and friends, including feeding, walking, and caring for them in their own homes, so one year of experience. For example, I’ve cared for dogs while owners were away by sticking to their usual routines, taking them on daily walks, feeding them, and making sure they felt comfortable and settled in their space. I've stayed over at houses overnight to house sit and look after their animals a couple of times as well.

I’ve grown up around animals and have cared for dogs with different personalities — from energetic dogs who need longer walks and playtime, to more relaxed or older dogs who prefer a slower pace and extra care. I've had experiences when there has been aggressive dogs on walks where I stayed calm and went to the other side of the street to avoid confrontation, I'm a quick thinker to make sure your pet and others are always safe.

I usually walk 1–2 dogs at a time depending on their size, behaviour, and your preference, and I’m confident reinforcing basic training like sitting, waiting, and walking calmly on the lead.

I’m also comfortable giving basic medication orally if needed and taking extra care with senior dogs or pets with special requirements.

On walks, I always prioritise safety. I stay aware of surroundings, other dogs, and anything that could cause stress. If a dog is nervous or reactive, I stay calm and patient and adjust the walk to suit them. In an emergency, I would contact you immediately and take your pet to the nearest vet if needed.

I work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, so I’m available the other days for short or long walks, house visits, playtime, and more. On workdays, I can also do a 1-hour walk after around 5:30pm and am happy to pick your dog up as I have a car and not worried about dog hair haha!

I live a pretty simple and steady lifestyle with work, going for walks, and spending time with my family. I’m doing pet sitting on the side to save for travel next year, but it’s something I genuinely enjoy and look forward to.
