We are Liam and Clare and we an animal loving couple! Liam has always grown up around pets, having had dogs, cats, axolotls, frogs, turtles, and lots of different fish. He studied Animal Care Level 3 so has learnt animal first aid/CPR. He has experience volunteering at SPCA and has done a work placement at a vet clinic in Nelson. Clare has always had pets too, including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and budgies. We are available for house sitting, dog walking and pet feeding. We both have cars so can drive to awesome walking areas. As a couple we have been doing lots of house and pet sitting for family and and friends over the last few years. We are always respectful of leaving your home clean and tidy when we leave, and mindful of the the security of your house when we stay. We can do both short term and long term stays. My partner, Micaela, and I are excited to meet you and your furry friends. We are currently based in Kingston. Our home has no other pets, children, or babies, providing a calm and focused environment for your pet if you choose our services. We are also happy to come to you if that is preferred.
Micaela has a dog, Pinky, currently living in Argentina. We miss her very much and plan to bring her over to New Zealand, but in the meantime, we would love to offer our genuine care to your pets.
We understand how important each animal is and respect that they all have unique needs. We are committed to providing reliable, consistent, and compassionate care tailored to your pet's routine.

I live in a spacious apartment with big windows and plenty of natural light — a lovely spot for your dog to relax, watch the world go by and soak up some sunshine. I’m based in Mount Victoria, just two blocks from Mount Victoria Reserve, which means we have nature right on our doorstep. Perfect for daily walks, fresh air, exploring and, of course, plenty of sniffing adventures!

I welcome small to medium-sized dogs who are house-trained.
Being so close to Mount Victoria Reserve and within easy reach of Oriental Bay means your dog can enjoy daily walks, fresh air and a change of scenery while staying in a comfortable, caring home environment. But more importantly, I want them to feel like they’re staying with a friend, not being left somewhere unfamiliar.

Need someone to keep your dog company while you’re at work or busy during the day?
I offer doggy day care for up to 8 hours, usually finishing by 5 pm so I can plan my day. Also 1 hour walking service.

I’m flexible with hours depending on your schedule and available on weekdays, with some weekend availability upon request.

 A little more about me

I’m a 41-year-old engineer and dancer with a lifelong love of animals.
I grew up surrounded by dogs, so having them around has always felt natural to me. Over the years, I’ve cared for more than 10 dogs in my local area, and one of my favourite parts of the experience has been seeing how quickly they build trust, become comfortable and eventually treat my home as their own.

Every dog has a different personality, routine and way of showing affection — and I love getting to know those little quirks.

Please note - as I don’t currently have a car, I’m only able to take house visit/sittings in Mount Victoria and nearby surrounding suburbs.

I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and birds, and I always aim to make pets feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable while their owners are away. I work part-time as an Airbnb cleaner in the CBD, which gives me a flexible routine and plenty of time for pet care.

 About Boarding + My Home
I have a small friendly dog called Rangi (Papillon x Jack Russell) who enjoys the company of other dogs. I only board a small number of dogs at one time so I can give them plenty of attention and supervision. Pets can be kept separate if preferred.

Guest pets are welcome inside the home and can sleep wherever they’re most comfortable. I live in a calm, pet-friendly home and can supervise pets for most of the day. When boarding, pets are not left alone for long periods.

I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure everyone feels comfortable 

Hello, I'm Sorcha (So - Rick - a) I've loved animals my whole life and I also know how to act when first meeting them. I'm punctual and tidy. I am a book lover so I am happy to sit in the park as long as your pet wants. I'm also happy to stay home with your pet, I'll keep them company and keep them out of trouble haha. I'm detail orientated and you can trust I'll follow your pets dinner instructions to a T. I am responsible and am very interested in pursuing a career in dog sitting/canine care. I have some experience in dog grooming. 
As to why I can't take pets into my own home, I am a renter living in a Newtown flat that does not allow pets - otherwise I'd be more than happy. I also do not drive, but my legs are more than able and the bus stop is at the end of the road. 
Mainly I am comfortable around dogs, all breeds and all sizes.

I have experience in administering medicines and can even provide some basic training if that's what your pet need. I live in a very safe neighborhood and there are many areas around to take your pets for walks and will happily provide them(and me) much needed exercises based on your dogs needs.

I grew up on a farm in the remote islands of Orkney. From a young age, I've helped raise and tend to animals. During my time in New Zealand, I've had the pleasure of Woofing across the North and South Island. I provided live-in housetting and dogsitting for several people around Tauranga, as well as dog walking in Havelock and taking care of chickens and ducks in Alexandra. I offer day home visits for up to 2 hours, but can accept longer periods if discussed in advance. I'm also happy to check on plants and do minor tasks if staying for a longer period of time. I will ensure all doors are secured before leaving your home.
