Rebecca

Hi, I'm Rebecca. I'm an ex-zookeeper who can't have pets in my rental and am looking for a way to keep animals in my life and add some extra income on the side of my full time job. 

I will mostly be available for dog walking (primarily in the weekends but also some evenings) but am open to house visits and overnight house sitting stays for a range of different animals if my calendar allows. 

I have plenty of experience walking the dogs of family members and have house sat for a number of families with dogs in the past, which has included regular walking. I walk a colleague's dog on a weekly basis and a puppy on a more occasional basis. 

I have had plenty of experience with animal care in my previous job (including reptiles, rabbits/guinea pigs, rats, birds). During my 6+ years as a zookeeper I developed skills in animal healthcare and learnt to quickly recognise signs of distress and ill heath in animals. I have also done a range of dog walking and house sitting for dogs and cats of relatives and colleagues. I have experience in providing animal enrichment which would be helpful for periods between house visits. 

I grew up with cats and extended family members always had dogs. 

There is a large dog park in my local area, as well as an on-leash beach area and plenty of urban streets to explore. I am also open to taking dogs further afield if you are happy to pay for the hours involved, particularly during weekends. 

I prefer dogs that are well socialised with other dogs to reduce risk when we come across other dogs on our walks. Vaccinated pets only please.
