Kia ora! My name is Carolyn and I'd love to help you with your furry family member(s). I moved to NZ from California a year ago and have extensive experience with caring for and training dogs from family pets to dogs in service training.

In the States, I had my own Labrador (Shiloh) and she also whelped two litters of puppies in our home. I also volunteered with Canine Companions and raised a Lab/GoldenX puppy (Pliny) for 18 months through their puppy-raising program. He was a medical release so we ended up adopting him and he succesfully completed Therapy Dog ceritification, with me becoming his certified Therapy Dog Handler. When I moved to NZ, I volunteered with Blind Low Vision NZ Guide Dogs and boarded a dog (Andie) who was on his way to being placed with his person. My volunteer status remains current with the organisation. 

My background in hospitality drives me to provide exceptional service and I would do so with your family pet! I take great care in understanding your pet's needs and meeting your expected level of service, and your dog's needs, while they are with me. I will also be very respectful of your home while you are away.

I prefer to watch over your pet in their own home so they are most comfortable in their known environment. In certain circumstances, your pet may also be welcome to stay in our home with a particular temperament. We live in Lower Hutt and have a fenced front and back yard for their safety. We do have a 6 year old cat who is quite independent and she has her own area of the house to stay in when we have dogs visiting, but the best dogs for this situation usually have thorough training and a calm personality.
